What you'll do

My probiotic Ice cream workshop will teach you all you need to know about making your own healthy and delicious ice cream at home. I'll introduce you to milk kefir grains that will convert the enzymes in the milk through lacto-fermentation into a nutritional superfood called kefir that will increase the good microflora in your gut. This is crucial to maintain a healthy digestive system.

My ice creams are so far removed from how commercial ice creams are made. They are uncooked or raw to preserve the good microflora and has no nasty additives. Finally! A guilt-free ice cream you can consume!

You can make these ice creams with or without an ice cream maker. Also enjoy a tour around our mango and macadamia farm and delight in using our home-grown macadamias or mango in your ice cream depending on the season and choice of ice cream for the day.

All participants will receive a kefir kit containing kefir grains, strainer, jar and all other items needed to make kefir. They will also receive an e-book containing ice cream recipes and guidelines on how to care for grains.
Other things to note
We also offer farmstays through airbnb. You may book both a farmstay and culinary workshop experience. We are happy to give a workshop to private groups of family or friends. The price is the same.

My husband and I visited Shoba and Kevin’s lovely property at Amamoor, we had a very relaxing morning learning about kefir ice cream, as well as other foods that contribute to a healthy digestive system. Shoba’s knowledge about healthy foods is inspiring. It was wonderful to see all of the natural produce growing on the property and being harvested, as well as used in everyday cooking. The lifestyle that both of them live is eye-opening, we both walked away from the workshop not only wanting to make our own kefir ice cream, but also thinking about our own food choices and how we can make changes to better our health. We highly recommend this workshop if you want to try something new, better your own health or if you simply want to try some delicious food!

We spent the afternoon with Shoba learning more about kefir, how to make no egg organic ice cream with kefir and tasting all the amazing things Shoba makes at her farm. We had a walk around and left with a bag full of amazing mandarins. Will definitely visit during mango season! Shoba and Kevin have three lovely dogs and we felt at home during our visit. Thanks both and all the best with the farm and your work! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do something different and who wants to find out more about kefir. We also got some to take back with us to Melbourne!
