What you'll do

A wonderful experience for family or group of friends. This is the perfect experience for an engagement, pre-wedding,special birthday or baby shower. STORYTELLING:We will begin the day with a storytelling and demonstration session. Learn all about the origins of the hand sewn signature quilt squares, and life in in Texas in 1933. Hear how we hand-stitched, restored, foraged, hand-dyed, embroidered and hand-painted fabric together as a group. Restoring and completing the set of 1930s vintage quilt blocks and creating a Yorkshire sister quilt. CRAFT:Working from our wonderful textile art hamper and sewing treasure trove you can then create your own textile art or signature quilt square. You will be encouraged to create a personally styled square to suit your own taste and ability. Using anything from embroidery and hand-stitching to collage, hand-painting , aplique or anything that you choose. Your square can be very simple or more elaborate, sewn, painted or glued. You choose! HOME:The setting is the fireside, kitchen and garden of an old 17th Century cottage and throughout the experience home made cordials, fresh coffee and home baking will be served.
