What you'll do
On arrival you are greeted with a warm welcome from our front of house team. We'll find the right tour for you and if you have time before the tour begins you can play around with our interactive screens, taking a fun whiskey quiz or watching some videos about the archeologists work on restoring the church, 800 year old graveyard and surrounding town houses. This one hour tour begins with a short video welcome from our late founder Dr. Pearse Lyons - the man with his name over the door. From here your storyteller will take a stroll outside with you to the ancient burial grounds and the many stories lying beneath the old grave stones. On entering the church you can see right up through the glass ceiling to the glorious glass spire. Once inside the main body of the church you will be met by smell of the distilling spirit. You can touch and taste all the steps of the process - and even chat with our on duty distiller. Once you know all there is to know about making Irish Whiskey, it's time to taste our small batch whiskeys with our expert taster. You'll then have time to peruse our gift shop and pick up a bottle of your new favourite whiskey to take home with you
You will be hosted by Andrew, Laura, James or Emma. Andrew has worked in tourism for over 20 years, has lived in the area for over 10 years - he knows the history and all the best places to eat. Laura gives a great Irish welcome and can pursuade you to try anything - especially gin! James is a whiskey guru, he's worked at every leading Irish tourist attraction that has anything to do with the liquid gold that we distill here and he'll tell you endless stories of Dublin Town. Emma is a great storyteller - from her actor routes - and an apprentice distiller, so she can tell you the real science!
