What you'll do
Our Heritage Walking Tours begin on our historic farming property, Krondorf Creek Farm. From here, we take approximately 2 hours to meander through the picturesque village of Krondorf on a round-trip, taking in the scenery and important sites including the Krondorf Cemetery, and the beautifully restored Zum Kripplein Christi (Manger of Christ) village church. Along the way we use touchpoints in the local landscape to delve into the Barossa's broader history and and significance, while we explore food, music, celebrations, quirky traditions, fascinating characters and the compelling stories that reveal the true Barossa. This isn't a dreary list of dates and names. Instead I draw on my love of storytelling and bring the characters and tales of this region to life. You'll leave with a deeper sense of the Barossa - and an understanding of why our region is so special. Be prepared for a gentle walk, across a variety of terrains. There's one very small, short hill to conquer at the beginning of the walk and thereafter it's easy sailing. Your host carries a basic first aid kit and water; please wear appropriate footwear, and dress for the weather.
I'm a co-owner of Krondorf Creek Farm, our family's small winery and cellar door which is located in the picturesque village of Krondorf in the world famous Barossa Valley. I'm a passionate and curious local and I've been immersed in the food and wine culture of the Barossa for the past ten years. During this times I've soaked up the stories and insights that make the history of the Barossa so fascinating and I love bringing this to life for visitors to our region. I'm an entertaining and engaging host - I love to tailor our discussions to explore our guests' areas of interest or expertise, or to hear their stories of connection with the Barossa. I'm particularly fascinated by the cultural heritage of the 1850s - the small details of daily life that build up a rich story of what our village looked like during this time.
