What you'll do
'If you can paint one leaf, you can paint the world' wrote the Victorian Art critic John Ruskin. You will be given an introduction into Botanical Art and insight into my work at my studio. I will show you how to observe, draw and paint a leaf in watercolour. There will be plenty of leaves available for you to choose from. If you prefer and have some previous drawing and watercolour experience, you could also paint a flower or a fruit... maybe an apple? ... or feel free to bring your own plant/flower specimen.
Born and raised in Switzerland, I've always been close to nature. I also love to paint; and having created large organic, abstract works in the past and as a passionate gardener, I became more and more drawn to illustrate nature in detail. Now living in Wales , my path took me 'from abstract to the exact' and so I studied Botanical Art and graduated with a distinction and an award of excellence. I now regularly exhibit my work locally and abroad and offer Botanical Art workshops for both beginners and more experiences artists at my Studio in South Wales UK.
