What you'll do
Close to my home there's a traditional Japanese market place which we'll visit to buy the ingredients we need. We'll also take a look at some other interesting unusual foods and ingredients and have a chance to talk to the various stall owners.
If you find something interesting we can also take it to my place and prepare it for lunch.
At first we'll make chopstick cover with origami(Japanese traditional paper) And then let's cook Japanese traditional healthy home cooked meals. We'll make 5 dishes. Apetizer, main, riceball, misosoup and dessert. And chat as we eat! I can also show you Japanese unique kitchen tools, pottery, porcelain china and lacquer ware.
Please enjoy the view and the food! My English isn't fluent. But I'm looking forward to sharing my meal.
I also welcome families with children.
Other things to note
Please tell me if you have any food allergies.
I have a dog in my house.
I observe the guidelines for safe handling of food.

I have been a house wife for 27 years. I also love traveling overseas. So far I've traveled to 15 countries. I love exploring local food markets and restaurants to discover the local cuisine and chatting locals.
My fondest experience was of a home cooked meal on a farm in New Zealand on 2016. I loved the atmosphere and authenticity of a traditionally prepared meal. It inspired to bring this kind of experience to others in my home using traditional Japanese foods and ingredients.
And then many exchange students have visited my house since I started Airbnb experience.
Also, I have been to their home in order to meet students who have stayed at my home before this winter. I was glad that I went to Belgium and Netherland and enjoyed their traditional homed cuisines.
I'd like to build relationship with everyone like this.

Where you'll be
My city , Suita located only 25 minutes from Namba by train,is home to the Expo '70 Commemorative park with its parks, gardens and famous 'Sun Tower'. Suita is also home to the Asahi Beer Brewery and the J-league soccer team Osaka Gamba plays here.
The city itself was only founded in 1940 and now represents a unique vision of a postwar modern Japanese city blended with traditional Japanese aesthetics.
I hope it will be a wonderful experience.

We had a wonderful time with Naoko, we highly recommend this experience. We had to change the date and time a few times due to the coronavirus, our flights had changed a few times. Naoko was very accommodating and flexible for us. She met us at the station and took us to the market and then back to her house. We made sushi, miso, gyoza and mochi, all delicious! We learnt about Naokos family and talked lots about travelling. After Naoko walked us back to the station and took us via the market to help us buy some ingredients for us to try ourselves at home. Great evening and really good value for money.

Naoko is a great host and cook, it was a pleasure cooking with her and learning about the Japanese way of life! We started the day going to the market to buy the ingredients and then back to her family home to cook some delicious food. We made Miso soup, Japanese omelette and mochi for desert. Overall a a great experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Osaka, it was nice chatting to a friendly local whilst eating tasty food!

Had a fantastic time with Naoko learning to make gyoza and a range of other Japanese side dishes such a as miso soup. Unfortunately it was a public holiday so we couldn’t go to the market but wandered around a supermarket instead which was still interesting to see. We then went back to Naoko’s and felt very welcomed at her apartment whilst we got to make beautiful food. Very full afterwards! Thanks again Naoko!

Naoko was a lovely host and it was great to chat to her as we walked through some local markets and cooked in her lovely home.
She was happy to answer all of our questions and even bought some konnyaku that caught my eye to show us how to prepare it. The food we cooked (silken tofu, miso soup, rice balls, grilled salmon, fried lotus root, pork and seafood okonomiyaki and mochi dango) was tailored to our tastes and beautifully presented, with Japanese ingredients shown and described to us.
We had our six month old son with us and Naoko was incredibly accommodating and patient when he needed some attention. We also enjoyed learning more about Naoko's family and history.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an intimate and personalised introduction to Osaka food!
