What you'll do

We will be diving straight into the world of thread & colour. After some basic colour theory we will explore stitches. The guests will learn 17 stitches that can be used in a variety of ways e.g. Sashiko, Boro, painting with thread etc. This is a hands on experience - you will go home with the skills to embellish your own clothes, homewares and anything else that can be stitched on. Guests leave with a full embroidery kit including - - embroidery hoop - 10 x 1 metre length threads (various thickness & type) - hand stitching needles - thimble, needle threader & small scissors - small colour wheel - full written instructions for all the stitches taught + piece of hand dyed fabric (100% cotton) or piece of natural hanky linen. We will look at lots of examples - from both my vast design library & my own work. During the session we will be having a morning/afternoon tea that includes - freshly ground plunger coffee & the leaf tea of guests choice (I have a large collection of tea), as well as freshly baked edibles. Food allergies & preferences can be catered for. Just let me know.
