Vangelis was absolutely excellent. Firstly, his knowledge: we really got the sense that he had deep knowledge of the city and that we would be able to cover any topic of interest to us. Never did we feel that he would not know the answer - great conversations with us, beautifully matched to our areas of interest. Secondly, personalisation - I sent Vangelis a message in advance to tell him what we had already experienced (because although this tour is advertised as orientation for first time visitors, we had already had a couple of days orientating ourselves & visiting the two most important sites). I also told Vangelis in advance about a special interest in ceramics. Well, how brilliant that Vangelis took all of this into account during the tour; reducing some of the content on things we had seen, & increasing in areas we had not seen at all. And he brought a video for us specifically about ceramics. What excellent personalisation that was. Thirdly, the pace was ideal - and we got the clear sense that Vangelis would adapt to any pace you needed - he did this instinctively. Fourthly, timing - I love it when guides are flexible with timing and don't finish right at the end of the allotted time. I think it shows they go a bit further for their customers when they go a little bit beyond the official end time - so good! Fifthly, we asked about recommendations for a restaurant - Vangelis gave us a good option, and even better, he gave us food choice recommendations - wow, that was so great. Overall therefore, a really brilliant person to tour with - Vangelis had great knowledge & great customer service. He was a pleasure to be with.
