It isn't everyday you get to sit in the beautiful forests of Oregon and listen to the chuffing and howling of wolves. But seeing their shy faces peering out through the dense lunderbrush and chainlink fencing I'm was only a small part of this amazing experience. Imagine watching a wolf documentary on the Nat'l Geographics channel, but getting your every question answered and touching wolf skulls and fur. Nichola, our passionate guide shared so much information about the North American members of genus canis- from the huge grey wolf, red wolf, coyote, fox, even our own domestic dogs. Afterwards, my 10- and 7-year talked endlessly about wolves and how and why humans can do so much more for this apex predator and our environment.
