What you'll do

You will be led on a guided tour of our ukulele factory. From wood milling to stringing the instrument, each step of the process will be explained in detail while you watch our ukulele craftsmen in action. After learning about the production of the instruments, you will have the opportunity to touch and try the various models of ukulele we make. We will also give a short demonstration and concert by our "in-house" musicians.

Was a wonderful tour and we loved playing the ukelele at the end. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, we felt right at home. Definitely worth the time and very reasonable cost.

Touring the facility was absolutely great! It was so cool to have the breakdown of the entire process for making ukuleles. We even had a cool hands-on portion where we were able to make our own personal key chains while learning the steps of the fabrication process before going to the back to view the different areas of the factory! I would definitely recommend touring the factory!

A Very impressive experience and rare insight! We got to chat with everybody that makes the ukuleles behind the scenes and feel the raw material that makes up each ukulele. We also get to make our own little ukulele key chains to learn about the process of it hands-on (and got a cute souvenir out of it).

Our family of 5 deeply enjoyed our visit to Brian’s Ukulele shop. My 14 and 18 year old boys were fascinated with the woodworking aspect of our tour (especially the animated storytelling of Pops, the founder). Our 9 year old daughter loved hearing the staff play and later enjoyed receiving some impromptu lessons from the friendly staff. The staff also went out of their way to recommend true local spots for lunch and awesome shave ice treats. We all felt this was one of the highlights of our week in Oahu - Thank you Pops, Brian, Lloyd, and Miki!

This was an incredible experience. We got a really in depth tour of the factory and process of making KoAloha ukuleles and got to know the KoAloha family. Everyone who works there is Ohana. Uncle KoAloha was a fantastic host, made us feel very welcome, and we learned so much not only about ukuleles but the materials, history and culture. We ended up buying a ukulele after the tour as well, and meeting the founders, mom and pops. They talked to us well beyond the scheduled tour and gave us some extra insight into their journey, lives and music. Truly an amazing experience we will never forget.

It was a fun, great and informative tour. It was interesting to see how the ukelele is made in a small private group. Lloyd, our tour guide, did a great job in explaining the process of making a ukelele from beginning to end and also give us some good tips on choosing a ukelele.
