What you'll do
With this experience you will learn how to design, cut, and print woodblock images using traditional Japanese woodcutting tools. The printing process involves printing by hand on a selection of fine handmade paper. All tools, inks, paper, and materials will be provided—as well as snacks, teas and coffee to keep energy levels up!
Refreshments and appetizers: Feel free to share your preference and I will do my best to accommodate!
I am a practicing artist, and my passion for woodcut printing began 15 years ago. Teaching this ancient process is an experience I find continually exciting, and working with new printmakers to help them achieve brilliant results and learn new skills is so much fun. Everything made in the class is by done by hand - all blocks and prints are the individual's to keep, with tubes provided at the end of the workshop for prints to be safely taken away.
