What you'll do

Alpaca trekking here with us at Beirhope is a unique experience. On arrival we will give you some treats and opportunity to meet our herd of male and female Alpacas. There are great photo opportunities from the start and the Beirhope Team will happily take photos for you as you meet and feed the Alpacas. You will be given an introductory talk about Alpacas, their likes, dislikes and quirks. You will be matched to an Alpaca and shown how to walk with them and Health and Safety information.
We then head out onto our 75 minute trek, into the Cheviot Hills. The routes are all along defined paths; the Alpacas make for great company and the wildlife and scenery along the way is simply breath taking.
Along the way we chat about Alpacas, and about our guests. We like to get to know our visitors and ensure they have a fantastic time with us. We take photographs for you, point out local landmarks and have a fun and unique walk in the hills.
Upon our return to the farm there's chance for more photographs of you and your Alpaca. We have on offer to buy Hot drinks and confectionary and some small Alpaca related items to remind you of your day with us here at Beirhope.
Other things to note
We are rurally located. Mobile phone signal is limited in places but access to a landline for urgent use is available. Roads are country lanes, Beirhope is signposted and available on satnavs/maps. This activity is not suitable for children under 13. Thank you.

I set up Beirhope Alpacas shortly after I moved to the countryside. Having had a professional career working in Social Care I wanted a change of life.
My Business grew from an idea of sharing my Small Holding and beautiful countryside with others and Beirhope allowed me to fulfill this ambition.

After meeting with Alpacas I knew they were the right animals for me!
I have attended several Alpaca handling and husbandry Courses, am a member of The British Alpaca Society and The Scottish Alpaca Group. I am a passionate ambassador for Small Business's and firmly believe Beirhope Alpacas is a unique, welcoming and friendly place for people to be.

Where you'll be

Your Alpaca trek will begin from my Farm, leading directly into the hills that I have lived in for almost 4 years. I will share my knowledge of local history of the Border Reivers, the Iron Age and the local landmarks. The scenery, wildlife change daily and are spectacular. You will lead your own Alpaca or share with a friend/family member; my Alpacas are well trained and make great companions for a walk in the Cheviot Hills.

First experience with Alpacas, was really lovely. They are far better behaved that expected, really enjoyed the true. We had Dino and Dante. Something with a difference. Lynne is very welcoming and a people person which makes such a difference. The views were stunning at the top of the hills. Highly recommend.

We LOVED our alpaca trek. Lynne was fantastic. Kind, energetic, and fun! The alpacas are so cute and funny. We didn't expect rain, but it was coming down buckets when we arrived. Lynne worked hard to make sure we took advantage of sunny periods, and altered our route to stay mostly sheltered. She kept spirits high!

Such a wonderful experience walking with these gorgeous animals . The walk itself is stunning and views to die for . However the alpacas and Lynne’s great personality are what makes it extra special. Couldn’t think of a better day out !
