I traveled to NYC to play in a concert, had tons of hectic rehearsals, but before all that started I wanted something peaceful, calm, quiet, and mindful to do on my full day “off”. Traveling from upper Manhattan down into Brooklyn’s DUMBO area was exactly what I’d hoped for. I’ve done a lot of past weaving, and hoped to reconnect with something I’ve loved in the past, and shared this with the host before arriving. The others in the class had never woven before, and we were all met right where we were in our learning. Whether new skills learned or dusty skills refreshed, this was just a great “experience”. I even bought a warp to take home with me and had no troubles getting it home on the plane. Being there in DUMBO and having part of the afternoon spent in this lovely studio has planted a seed to want to return and spend all of my time exploring the vibe of Brooklyn, leaving behind the crowds of people in Manhattan and esp. Times Square. This experience was *just* my cup of tea.
