What you'll do

We will have a great day, we will leave at 8 am. from the city of Mérida to the south where we will visit the Mayapan ruins where we will go up to the pyramids, you can touch the sculptures, while I will tell you about many details and curious facts about the Mayan culture, and we will take some magnificent photos. Then we will go to the town of Pyxia, crossing this town we will arrive at a special and magical place where we will descend and enjoy the ancient underground waters of Yucatan, in this natural wonder you can swim, snorkel or simply lie down and enjoy a good rest in contact with the mother earth, disconnected from the world and its rush. Here we will spend a good time in the womb of mother earth to find ourselves, perhaps facing our fears to overcome them, to become aware of the wonders that surround us and of which we are part.
You can take selfies and photos underwater, the place is a natural paradise, with adequate access so we will enjoy it with peace of mind.
Then we will move to the second cenote where the sun will give better lighting, penetrating its crystal clear waters.
After all this recharge of energy and good vibes, we will have lunch homemade panuchos, and satisfied we will return to the cd. ending in the center or we can agree if you want me to leave you somewhere of your interest.
We finished at 4pm.

Hi, I'm Antonio proudly Yucatecan, I love nature and I enjoy living together outdoors. I am a boy-scout since I was 5 years old, where I have lived thousands of adventures knowing every beautiful corner of Yucatan, discovering cenotes, farms, ruins, caverns, beaches and mangroves.
I love this land full of mysticism and history. I feel proud of my roots and wish to share them with those who visit us.
I have a great repertoire of routes and places to show you but this selection will leave you amazed.

Where you'll be

We will visit the archaeological zone of Mayapan first to take advantage of the morning and that it is just open to the public. Leaving we will have water, soft drinks and snacks to regain energy.
Then, a few kilometers away, we will cross the town of Pixya along a rustic road to the cenotes when the sun's rays are already projecting in the crystalline waters offering us an unparalleled spectacle. There we will have bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Reserve this tour NOW. Best choice for a tour in the Merida area for the places offered, such as cenotes or Uxmal. Within 4 days, I did 6 different tours with Antonio, so I know his work better than any other tourist. I did extensive research before coming to Merida for a week, and I looked at many websites and in many guidebooks to do my research. Your other options (Antonio’s competitors) are not even in the same time zone compared to what Antonio offers. - His tours are MUCH CHEAPER than any other tour, - you can be the only customer on the tour for no extra price (just you and the guide, a 1-1 tour!), - His day tours leave very early in the morning so that you arrive at the most famous place for that particular tour before any other tourist does; - His guides are very kind, super polite, well-organized, and very diligent in making sure that you don’t forget a valuable item in a place such as a cenote, etc; - The lunches are at very authentic places, often on the property of a Mayan family’s modest home, perhaps at their own kitchen table that doubles as a restaurant at lunchtime; - The itinerary for the tours are very well-researched, meaning that you go to really beautiful cenotes or haciendas or restaurants that most tourists have never heard of; - The transportation is in a car, not a bus, and you get to travel on back roads in the countryside with no other cars near you; there is no loud music and they drive very safely; - The guides bring water and a modest snack for you along with a life jacket for the cenotes; - Antonio and his guides have very low profit margins. A lot of the tour’s cost goes to gas, admissions, and Airbnb itself. Thus, Antonio is not able to pay the guides a lot. If you can read this in English, you have the money to tip the guides at least 20% of the tour’s cost. Please do so. The tourism industry is being devastated right now by a lack of tourists due to Covid, and Jose and Alex (Antonio’s English-speaking Mexican guides) are extremely kind, hard-working, modest, and diligent about your safety. By the end of each tour, you will grow fond of Jose and Alex, so keeping in mind that their financial realities are much more difficult than yours or mine, please be generous with your gratuity to them. I will really miss Jose and Alex.

This was so much fun from start to finish. Everything you see here will definitely be life-changing. The cenotes are refreshing and being in the water with the little fishes is truly an experience. We started with the ruins, getting there early does allow you to have it all to yourself for quite some time. Climb the big pyramid, check out the observatory and look very closely at the rocks for some surprises. Take the guided tour, it truly is informative and the guides are very kind and knowledgable on all things Maya. The cenotes are a blast, definitely jump in if you are able to. There are plenty of little fish to swim with and try to look underwater at the beauty of it all. It really is a lot of fun and very relaxing to be so close to the Earth. The traditional food in the village is something that can not be missed. The village people are very kind and their food is delicious. The ingredients are all fresh and local, it is an honor to be able to dine in their home and see that the Mayans are still around as well as hear them converse in their language. It will be overwhelming to see how they live, and the meals they cook. There is a lot to learn. Also try to see the different herbs, peppers and fruit trees on their property if you can. Everything they grow, they eat and prepare themselves. Overall this was one of the best experiences I've ever had, being able to see pyramids, ancient water holes and a still-existing Mayan family in their Mayan village is an experience that you will cherish forever.

We loved our experience with Antonio! The ruins and cenotes were a highlight of our trip in Merida! We don’t speak fluent Spanish, but between our Spanish and Antonio’s English - we worked out basic communication! Even if you cannot speak Spanish I would still recommend Antonio’s trip! He got us an English speaking guide for the mayapan ruins, was happy to wait for us when my husband wanted more time diving at the first cenote, and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, that we got enough time in each location, and we we’re having a good time. Thanks again for the great trip Antonio! :D
