What you'll do

At organic dining JINQ, I will teach you how to make a Bento box with seasonal and sustainable ingredients. Japanese people make Bento box in any occasion like when we go on a trip and when we go for work. A Bento box consists of so much variety of food items, from fish to meat, rice to vegetables. It is well-balanced and colorful. It is mom’s taste and part of Japanese culture. Onigiri rice ball shaped like Mt.Fuji, roll sushi using Mt.Fuji salmon (trout), grilled egg using free-range eggs etc.. You will experience the Bento Box making with local ingredients at our restaurant in a renovated Japanese style house. After the experience, we will eat the Bento Box together with local organic green tea. We can maybe go on a picnic to a shrine nearby if it’s sunny!

【HOST: Kyoco】 Hi! I am from this area. I came back to where I grew up after I worked at resorts and PR company. I started the restaurant and inn since I wanted more people to know about the richness of this area. My dining restaurant JINQ is offering menu using sustainable vegetables, meat, and fish harvested at the foot of Mt.Fuji. A renovated Japanese style house GOTEN is also available as an accommodation/residence. I speak Japanese, English and French, so I have a lot of guests from abroad.Let’s enjoy Bento box making with me! 【HOST:Yuka /Slow Food Mt.Fuji Secretariat】 I am in charge of applying for and contacting experiences. "Slow food Mt.Fuji" introduces the rich food culture of the area receiving the blessings of nature from Fuji to the world. And my hometown has very beautiful scenery and water is very delicious.
