About your host

Robert is the founder and CEO of L.A. Kitchen. He has been a nonprofit leader, author, speaker, and activist in the food recovery, job training, & social enterprise movement since 1989, when he founded the nationally recognized D.C. Central Kitchen. Robert received the 2004 James Beard Foundation "Humanitarian of the Year" award and has helped more than 1,600 men & women gain full time employment.

Transform reclaimed fruits and vegetables and turn them into healthy meals. Learn about meal prep - cutting, practicing valuable knife skills, & packaging meals. Where you'll be

We'll be in L.A. Kitchen's 20,000-sq-ft facility, located within a food business incubator, just north of DTLA. It is a teaching kitchen, reclamation center for wasted food, & feeding facility for low-income senior citizens. L.A. Kitchen believes that neither food nor people should ever go to waste.
