  • This place was so cute and quaint! Perfect for a getaway when you just want to spend time with your significant other! Amazing decor and just a lovely place to stay!!

  • This is a amazing place to stay!

    James2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was WAY better than expected. Very clean and comfortable. The small touches in the room that accommodate the guest are what set this place above a lot of others. Definitely recommend.

  • Very clean and very convenient to the charming town square.

    Tami2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • In absolute awe, gorgeous place and perfect location.

    Kimberly2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely and comfortable room is a perfect little home away from home. It has everything you need for comfort and convenience right there! It's modern, beautifully decorated and squeaky clean. The loft is cozy and comfortable, and the main bed is luxurious. I appreciated the variety of pillow sizes and firmnesses. The shower is roomy and the hot water comes fast! The sink is almost too pretty to spit toothpaste into! The fully stocked kitchenette offers whatever you need to feed yourself, whether you're grabbing a quick bowl of cereal, making a crock-pot of chili or microwaving popcorn to accompany a movie on the really nice TV. But don't plan on staying inside long; this gem is located steps away from Carthage's own castle, it's courthouse. This beautiful building is a joy to behold from inside, with its historical elevator, displays and artwork, as well as out. The courthouse sits in the center of town square, where you can find plenty to keep you busy. If you only just window shop, you'll find a few things to drop your jaw. We found a large painting of all the Republican Presidents sitting around a table. You can grab a great cup of coffee and a breakfast scone (which will make your inner foodie weep for joy) at Mother Road Coffee. You can explore my Mom's favorite shop, True Value Hardware, which ain't your dad's hardware store, believe me! There are more antique shops and "malls" to browse in one day! And all these shops are manned by the nicest people! Further afield, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the Pancake Hut, and an excellent experience at Cave Gang wood fired pizza. There, you'll get some interesting pizza choices (our fave was the hobo!) and great beers. But when our little vacation turned into a family emergency, host Carissa proved why PEOPLE are the real backbone of airbnb. Her compassion and care of us, as we drove back and forth to Mercy Joplin, was unparalleled. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars.

    Angela2019-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The unit is charming, with a great location right next to the historic shops of Carthage. Further, Carissa is a fantastic host - helpful and thoughtful. I would recommend this airBnB to anyone.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the farm. There were plenty of outdoor activities and as well as indoor creature comforts. We’ll be back for sure!

  • Nestled down a scenic lane with lovely trees, flowers, and some really cute animals! The Farmhouse was stocked with everything we could have wanted. We loved the idea of the Activity Barn but it rained quite a bit and we didn't get to use it. Hopefully, we can on a future visit because we really hope to go back! Great hosts and an overall wonderful experience.

  • Not enough words to express how wonderful the Farm House is. You will take a step back in time & away from your troubles for a bit. The moment you walk in you instantly feel welcomed. The special touches & thoughtfulness that went into every room is amazing. It is so peaceful and relaxing. We had my son's 18th Birthday here & there was an awesome fire pit to set around & drink hot cocoa. There is a huge grill to cookout on. We were greeted with homemade cookies & a baby goat to love on. They are the nicest hosts ever! I have stayed in many Airbnb's but this was is by far the best. The details!! Go check it out, you will be so happy that you did. I know I want to come stay again & for longer. Amazing!!!

  • The Old Missouri Farm was even better than expected. The entire house is completely stocked with anything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the large kitchen, the cozy living room, the fire pit out front and all the extra snacks! The keyless entry was great and hassle free. Our hosts were friendly and kind. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay in MO.

The bed was extremely comfortable. Shops were with in walking distance, 100% recommend the coffee shop on the square(MotherRoad). Would definitely stay here again!

    Hailey2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dave & Carissa go above and beyond to make you comfortable. Not only was the space breath taking, stylish, and comfortable. They went above and beyond to accommodate my two little guys. From the thoughtful details to the beautiful decor, there isn’t any place else we will stay when visiting Carthage! The beautiful wood floors, the multiple types of pillows to choose from (towels too!) They really have a beautiful space and we highly recommend them!

    Ember2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful Flat in a remodeled old building off the historic Carthage square. Extremely clean remodel with the original 1880’s wood floor and old doors. The hosts are excellent communicators, even leaving little note cards throughout the space to help you get situated. If your traveling to Carthage this is the perfect option and better than staying at a hotel in Joplin.

Newly built "off the grid" tiny cabin on 125 acres of Ozark fields and forest off historic Route 66. Designed for those who want to sample a simpler life. Hike in our woods, ride a bike down the road, view wildlife, enjoy a bonfire and star gazing, or sit on the porch or in a hammock and relax! The cabin is equipped with everything you will need for your off grid experience, including woodstove for heat, fans for cooling, cooking supplies, linens, solar shower and composting toilet.
The cabin was built in a shaded walnut grove on the Old Missouri farm. It was designed for those who want to sample an earlier life without all the modern conveniences. It is a great place to relax, slow down, and unwind. There is no TV, no WiFi, no AC, no "running" water, and no major appliances. The cabin is equipped with everything you need for your off the grid experience: comfortable beds with fresh linens, bath towels, soaps, a full stocked cabin kitchen (seasonings, cooking oil, coffee, tea, cocoa, dishes, pots and pans, camp stoves and grills) and more. We provide guests with 10 gallons of fresh filtered water for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes. If more water is needed, there is an outside hydrant down the road at the Farm House to refill the containers. We also provide a 5 gallon container of water for outside use and 55 gallon container of potable water for showering. We have a system for hot showers but the bathhouse itself is not heated. Note that in freezing temperatures the heated water system has to be shut down, but we have solar shower bags where you can add warm water and still have a nice shower. We also have a modern composing toilet (much better than an outhouse). The cabin has a 24 volt solar power system the provides electricity for installed low energy use lights and a DC Vornado fan for cooling the cabin. For those chilly nights we have a wood stove for heat (we provide the wood). If you are not familiar with operating a woodstove, we are happy to demonstrate. Since the cabin is not equipped with a refrigerator, we provide a cooler, but you will need to supply your the ice. The cabin has a great porch for sitting; hammocks for relaxing; fields and forest for hiking; games to play outdoors; bikes to ride; and books and board games if you want to stay snuggled inside There is also a fire pit with all the needed cooking tools. We also have a 150 yard farm driving range for those who love golf - bring your short irons! We would be happy to provide information on other things to do and see in our area. • Gracious hospitality, delicious food, very clean, comfortable, quiet area, and beautiful home. You will love Jeanne and Mike's list of favorite places to visit in the area. We had a wonderful experience and will be back. Looking forward to trying the Wilder Room next time. All the bedrooms are just beautiful, and you will find all of your necessities. Loved it! P.S. Jeanne, I really do think you and Mike should consider having those pens available for purchase. ;)

    Jeanne2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne was the perfect host, and so helpful when my flights and car rental got screwed up, and I ended up arriving in the middle of the night driving a 15-person passenger van! It is a little thing, but it was so nice after a long day of terrible travel to find makeup wipes in the bathroom :) Breakfast was great, especially the pancakes. I'd easily recommend staying here.

  • Jeanne's Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to stay. It has a magical charm with it's turn of the century style and decor surpassed only by Jeanne's hospitality and caring attitude. She's also an incredible chef. The breakfasts are healthy and delicious. I have dietary restrictions and Jeanne went out of her way to accommodate me and my schedule. I highly recommend this amazing Bed and Breakfast to anyone who likes comfort and charm as well as "home away from home".

  • Jeanne’s beautiful Victorian BnB is a real treat! It is everything it’s promised to be & even hoped for in a bed & breakfast- warm hospitality, excellent breakfast, sparkling clean, quiet, relaxing & very comfortable. The craftsmanship of the home is amazing & we enjoyed the antiques as well as the up to date plumbing. We got a great night’s sleep. Carthage has an interesting history & worth the stop & stay. We visited the Precious Moments Chapel, Grand Falls & met friends in Joplin. Me’s Place was a fun & tasty stop for Soul Food in Joplin. We highly recommend Jeanne’s Grand Avenue BnB!

  • This B&B is by far above any others we have stayed in. Jeanne's suggestions were all spot on and completely enhanced our visit with Carthage's history and beauty! She knows so much about the history of the house and it's obvious a lot of love goes into it.

  • The home is a beautiful and charming Victorian home. We were in a spacious room called the Mark Twain room. You feel as though you’ve walked back in time but with modern conveniences. So many small touches here and there of a time gone by. The home and our room was clean as could be, and breakfast the following morning prepared by Jean was delicious and beautifully presented. Fine china and beautiful linens on the table. So lucky to have found this jewel in Carthage, MO.

  • As someone who travels for work, and has stayed in Airbnb's in several countries, and many states, this was one of my absolute favorite houses i have EVER stayed in. I felt like royalty. Loved the place, would give it 6 stars if i could.

  • Very historical house with beautifully contemporary décor. Oversized screened-in porch over look a huge backyard which is very relaxing. The onside laundry is super convenient. Host is very nice and accommodating.

  • This house was amazing! It was big enough for my whole family to not feel like we were on top of each other. We brought fold up chairs to sit in the courtyard and it was fabulous! I had trouble with the lockbox when we got to the house and Jamie responded right away and helped us. There weren’t tons of house rules which made it super easy to check out. I’d stay here again at my next family reunion.
