Hello! Our house is in a very nice, convenient location in Louisville. Located in the Clifton area, this house is close to downtown, Germantown, Nulu, Frankfort Avenue, and many other great places here in Louisville!
You’ll have a private room that is fully furnished! You’ll have a comfortable full size bed, closet, chair, TV hooked up the fire stick, WiFi, and a fan. We have two full bathrooms. Both are free for you to use! Towels, soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, etc. will be provided. There is always street parking in front of the house. There is never a problem with availability.
Our neighborhood is my favorite part! We live directly behind Melwood Arts Center which makes it nice to be able to walk down to all the cute little shops and events they host. We live a short 12 minute walk to a few bars and restaurants on Frankfort Avenue - Silver Dollar, The Champagnery, Ostra, Hilltop Tavern... to name a few. We are a a few miles from downtown so a quick $6-$8 Uber ride will get you anywhere from the Nulu area to KFC Yum center right In the center of downtown.

Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows, the room also has a comfortable chair if you need to get work done on a laptop. Play Dance Bar is the place to be for drag shows and dance parties. Take in the architecture of the Butchertown Historic District, including St. Joseph Catholic Church built in 1866. The Greek Revival and Shot-gun homes on Washington Street and others put the neighborhood on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Experience the area’s rich history at the Thomas Edison House, where you’ll be enlightened about the inventor’s inspirational time spent in Louisville. Or, stop by Hadley Pottery for an inside look at how the iconic stoneware is made. The remaining front facade of the former early 19th century Heigold House, which features a detailed sketch of important early Whig Party leaders. Anna2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We rrally enjoyed our stay over the weekend. The space was super cute and in the perfect location near the perks of downtown Louisville. Our space was at the back of the building, so it was nice and quite. The only thing that would have made it better was an upgrade to the bathroom towels.

    Alex2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what they offer. Its really a fair deal

    Mary-Eve2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay lots to do in the area. Already planning a trip back.

    Mary2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my one-night stay here. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning kept it cool in the oppressive southern heat. It was farther out from the sites that I had planned to walk to, but still doable. The walking would have been more comfortable had it not been so hot and humid. I also wish I had had the exact address at least a couple of hours prior to check in. Not the door code, just the exact address. It would have helped me in my planning. All in all, a nice place to stay.

    Denise2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Cool space as very safe! Close to bars and downtown! Very clean and thanks for the coffee and tea! This is a cool place for anyone exploring Louisville! Highly recommended!

  • Aimee is a gracious host. Communication is stellar (Aimee is quick to respond and so kind) and the place is lovely. I had a comfortable stay! This location in Louisville is perfect: close to good restaurants and coffee shops. Though I didn’t get to stay in town long this time, I would definitely love to come back. Aimee’s place is a beautiful spot, and I highly recommend her to future guests.

  • Very lovely and unique home! I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Brenda's place to anyone

    Inga2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda’s house was a perfect place to stay. We stayed for one night, during which she was an incredible host. We will definitely be back to visit her stylish and immaculate home.

    Christopher2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda’s home is comfortable and charming. The photos don’t do it any justice! The dogs are adorable and very protective of their mom! I had plans to go out over the weekend I was there but ended up terribly sick and stayed in the house. My time there was quiet, and the cleanliness is top notch. I highly recommend and would come back any time. The dogs are adorable but are persnickety unless you have food!

    Aubreii2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • House was very nice, and the pets friendly as well (2 dogs and a cat). Brenda has good tips on places to go, and was happy to talk with me. Nice when you’re travelling solo. Somewhere I would stay again, if I was passing through.

***LOCALS MAY NOT BOOK WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FROM THE HOST***  If you’re a small group, couple, or solo adventurer who’s looking to take in the absolute best Louisville has to offer then look no further; just the right blend of historic character and modern flair that makes Crescent Hill one of Louisville’s most sought after neighborhoods. Not one detail was overlooked nor was a single penny pinched. This is THE premier couple’s home in Louisville! On street parking, however it is a quiet dead end street with plenty of space available. No permit required! The front door has a digital keypad that allows easy access day or night, allowing you to check in at your convenience. * Crescent Hill is a local favorite for Louisville residents due to its incredible cuisine and boutique shopping. Locations don’t get much more walkable than this; it’d be easy to spend a week on Frankfort Avenue and never need to venture out beyond it! However, part of the appeal is the proximity to everything the city has the offer, all of which is within minutes via car. Of all of our properties this one is really the most walkable, you can get out on foot and make it to just about anywhere you’d like to be in a matter of minutes! If you’d like to drive or Uber, both are extremely accessible, you won’t have a single issue!

  • My family and I had a pleasant stay. For the most part the unit was quite nice (tall ceilings, modern design), it missed the mark compared to some of the other AirBnbs we've stayed at (the sheets were worn, no trash bags in the trash cans, etc.) All and all a good place though.

    Samyon2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in a very convenient location. Would absolutely recommend!

    Kathleen2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently and centrally located, this is a cute and lovely place, furnished simply with a modern style, and perfect for a couple's getaway and home base. The bed was super comfy and we really enjoyed our stay. Our host communicated quickly and was very accommodating. We'll definitely check this place out for our next visit!

  • Perfectly decorated little house on a quiet street. Parking was never an issue. So so many cute little restaurants and bars within walking distance. The historical homes we saw were stunning, everything we needed was at the house, bed was comfy, towels were soft, nice closet and washer/dryer...we never even turned on the TV but the WiFi worked well. Cute little back yard area. Would stay again and again!!

    Jana2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Joyce’s house is a great Airbnb find! Beautifully renovated, extra clean, and excellent location - walkable to many shops and restaurants. The hosts are responsive too! If you are traveling alone or as a couple you’ll be very comfortable here.

    Mike2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the location ( walking distance to lots of restaurants, coffee, etc), and the interior design of the house. Unfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable and the house was really dirty. The bathroom floor, rug, and shower were covered in hair (which we ended up cleaning ourselves). The bed sheets and pillow covers had a sour smell. When we reached out to the host, he responded rudely, with no regard for our concerns, and did not attempt to make it right. In fact, he boasted about his job cleaning the floors, and the nice LG washers that had laundered the sheets as if that solved our problem. We will not stay at any location operated by this management company again.

  • We stayed at Joyce's house over the weekend. It was a wonderful stay. The neighborhood was so great! We loved Silver Dollar. It's close to anything and everything you may need. We'll be staying again!

  • This was my first time using Airbnb, I was a little nervous about the whole process but it turned out to be a great experience!! The only negative was the heat could not be controlled from our room, it was controlled by thermostat in the bar. I felt it was extremely hot both nights, uncomfortably hot. The times we went into the bar, the staff were extremely helpful. I look forward to my next Airbnb experience.

  • Great spot for a great price. Check in was super smooth at the bar, and we got a quick tour/rundown of the place. It was awesome to be able to park behind the building. Finished off our night in Louisville back at Mellwood Tavern with some great drinks and interesting local comedy (Monday night). Check out Good Wood brewing while you're in town as well. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

  • This space has lots of character, and checking in at the bar offers a personal touch not many locations have! Cutely decorated and close to a lot of bars, food, etc. A little loud late at night, but otherwise a great find!

  • I’ve never used Airbnb before. I can tell you, if my stay here is ANY indication of what you can find, I’ll never (Email hidden by Airbnb) fort, privacy, ease of communication, the carriage house....perfection. The location is amazing, and the hosts are even better. If anyone I know comes to visit, and we can’t accommodate at our new home, my first reaction will be to call Rebecca and Jack. They made my move to Louisville seem so much more comfortable than I was expecting. Unbelievable. THANK YOU!!

  • Waverley is a quietly set and well appointed apartment, thoughtfully and creatively presented. Frankfort Avenue has good, sometimes excellent, restaurants, wine bars and coffee shops, and some interesting small funky stores. Eating out enjoyably is an easy walk to several options. The general location is just right for experiencing Louisville's friendly and relaxed character. My wife and I had a most enjoyable five days.

Charming, private bedroom in the heart of Clifton. Our house is within walking distance of many bars and restaurants on Frankfort Avenue.
Our house is an updated bungalow with quite a bit of space and charm. There is lots of light and greenery around the house. Whichever part of the house you go, you're sure to find some peace and quiet.
We are in the heart of it all! No matter what you are interested in, you can find something here that appeals to you. This rental is ideal for the working professional - close to downtown, local hospitals, and near the interstate so you can get to where you need to easily! This spot is also ideal for long term rentals : washer/dryer, easy street parking, and fully furnished with anything you may need (towels, sheets, cooking utensils, etc). We are within walking distance of numerous restaurants and bars. Mellwood Arts Center, formerly a major production factory, is now an arts and community center in the neighborhood. Conveniently located near Frankfort avenue, there's a boutique-shop filled strip just around the corner that offers a plethora of stores to shop. When you enter the area, you feel the sense of community. One of my friends once said, as we were taking a walk, "I never knew about this part of town, seems legit." That's because it is. Voted one of the five best neighborhoods, Trolley Hop, Historical, The best restaurants, live music, Shopping, Great neighbors. There are many art festivals, street festivals, and cultural art events to experience in this area of Louisville.
  • Quite and homely. Host are very nice.

  • I booked this as a base to compete in my first Ironman triathlon, in Louisville, and had a great experience. David was extremely kind in waiting up for my arrival (an hour later than expected due to Eastern Time, which I knew nothing about!) and helped out with a spacious basement and tarpaulin to aid with my bike reassembly. The bedroom too was big, allowing me to mess it up with all my kit for a few days, and I had the run of the house for the weekend, which saved me waking them up at 0415! Comfy bed, dark curtains, a quiet neighbourhood, no problem with on-street parking, a supermarket a short walk away and very quick and easy access to the city centre all added up to a great experience. David could not have been more helpful or communicative and this would be my first choice were I to return to Louisville in the future - highly recommended.

    Rupert2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was an excellent host with a great place, excellent communication, and great amenities. The location was good because it was secluded but close enough to restaurants and bars if needed. She even gave us a ride the the concert that we were seeing which was above and beyond what we expected. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

    Joe2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great room - comfy bed! Location was near Butchertown (try Butchertown Grocery for dinner!) and Market St which has plenty to do. Room was a little warm even with fans but I am sure ML & David would provide a solution if asked. I just waited it out and it cooled down overnight. Nice people!

    Brittany2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little house with an ideal location. Communication as terrific too which really helped as first-time airbnb-ers!

    John2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Luke and David’s house was super cute and just a stone’s throw away from downtown and other cool neighborhoods. The room was very comfortable and had everything that I needed. The hosts were extremely hospitable, and David recommended tons of great local places to check out – and everything I tried was amazing! This stay comes with my highest recommendation. 10/10, would stay again.

Artsy, second floor carriage house apartment, with a private bedroom, queen-sized sleeper sofa, full kitchen, 49" Roku Tv, private balcony and courtyard, plus off-street parking. Perfect for a secluded getaway, or a festival weekend in Louisville. This quaint apartment is located in historic Butchertown and is walking distance to Waterfront Park and the Big Four Bridge, all things happening in Nulu, a LouVelo bikeshare station, coffee, donuts, shopping, food, music, fun...and so much more.
The Story House Cottage has private access with a keypad entry. Stair climbing is required to access the 2nd Floor apt. It can comfortably accommodate 1-4 guests with a private bedroom, combined living and kitchen space, full bath with tub, and a full-sized washer and dryer. The bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, reading nook, and dresser. It also includes a walk-in closet with ample hangers and shelves and french doors that open onto the private balcony. The living/kitchen area is roomy, comfortable, and full of light. Full length windows and french doors bring the light indoors...when you want it. When you don't, you can draw the curtains to dampen the light and quiet the mood.
Butchertown is an historic neighborhood full of new, old and upcoming establishments. We are the future home to the Louisville Bontanical Gardens and a brand new stadium to house our local Louisville City FC. For beer, music, or food you need to go no further than to the end of the block to Sergio's World of Beers or The Butchertown Social. For the best deal on a breakfast burrito, head to North End Cafe. Or if you're craving a killer meatloaf sandwich, venture up the hill to The Hilltop Tavern. If you are looking for unique gifts or souveniers, the Butchertown Market on Story Ave house "Work the Metal" which will certainly have something for everyone. For a relaxing walk, take the Butchertown Greenway straight to the river where you can walk or bike it's edge for more than 20 miles.
  • Artsy, comfortable, clean, and convenient.

  • Joan’s place was very clean and stylish. The place was conveniently located and Joan was very responsive with lots of recommendations for fun Louisville activities. Thanks for being a great host!

    Brian2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was located just minutes from downtown and the interstate as well as great eating in the Highlands. It is quiet and very, very neat, with lots of original artwork. The host is very attentive! We will be back and highly recommend!

    Robert2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Joan’s place is super clean, well decorated and is an extremely comfortable place to call home while in Louisville. It is easily accessible off the freeway and we felt totally safe being there. Joan is a true "super host" who is quick to respond to any questions or needs that arise. She is a pleasure to deal with. Our next stay in Louisville will be with her at the carriage house!

    Kelly2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute.

    Tait2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Joan put so many extra touches in the space. I kept finding myself thinking “I wonder if there’s [this, that, or the other], and - there was. Joan was very responsive and provided helpful input.

    Tr2019-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay could not have been more wonderful - the rental was lovely, cozy and spotless, and a quick walk away from restaurants and breweries. Joan was super attentive with questions and even saved us from leaving an item behind! Would absolutely stay there again in the future.

    Lara2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • So glad we chose the Carriage House for our 4 night visit to the area! It was in a perfect location for getting all around Louisville and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of Butchertown. (We walked the pedestrian bridge several times at different times of the day/evening & it was only a short drive away! The house was absolutely spotless, had everything we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves, and was very comfortable. We loved the design, the great water pressure in the bathroom, the comfy bed & the thoughtful touches throughout. It was surprisingly spacious too, with plenty of closet space and room to spread out. I particularly appreciated the lack of knick-knacks on every surface which I normally find myself moving! The whole space was truly decorated/arranged thoughtfully. Joan was totally available although we didn't actually need anything because she'd already thought of it!

After driving a couple hours to get there, we were pleasantly surprised to find snacks provided along with two welcome beers in the fridge. Just a minute drive to shopping and dining, as well as the Butchertown Social (bar) within a short walk - there was always plenty to do. Would definitely stay again!

  • This place is PERFECT! If you find yourself in Louisville and are looking for a very nice, clean, new place to rent that is SAFE and SECURE look no further! All of this and within walking distance to the awesome nightlife. It does not get any better than Todd’s place!! One of the best Hosts we have ever stayed with.

    Scott2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Todd's home is in a great location. Numerous restaurants and bars are in walking distance. Otherwise, most other fun stops are a short ride away. The apartment is spacious with a full kitchen. Check-in was simple. Our only complaint was the noise level. Although it is a quiet neighborhood, the home is old and you can hear most movement throughout. For light sleepers, this could be the only downfall of the property.

    Tina2019-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great space, amazingly value, and extremely responsive. We loved our stay at Todd’s.

  • This is a refurbished old home with all updated amenities. The integrity of the original home has been retained and is quite open and lovely. The home is in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of several restaurants of different price ranges and a variety of menus. We are vegetarian and loved the Zen Garden! Our meat eating friends even liked it too. We would highly recommend this home.

    Carolyn2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great place to stay. Area was lovely with good restaurants and easy access to downtown and highways taking you any where you would want to go. House was charming. We loved having coffee on the porch every morning and all neighbors were friendly. We had plenty of towels and dishes. Beds were very comfortable. I would recommend staying here. It saved us a good sum from the hotels we checked out.

  • Comfortable, clean & in a great location. Easy to get downtown and the neighborhood has many great restaurants & pubs. Check out the Irish Rover for excellent food.

    Ed2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The spacious and well-decorated house is exactly as pictured and described. Everything you need for an extended trip has been supplied by the thoughtful hosts. I did have some issues checking in as Airbnb did not provide entry instructions and it took 45-60 minutes at the airport to acquire this information. Once we gained entry we found the back door unlocked and unsecured. This necessitated checking the basement to make sure no one was down there. Another issue which was quite odd: the middle bedroom lights came on spontaneously twice in the morning. I was instructed by Tom to remove the wall remote batteries (which we did) and that seemed to resolve the issue. Neighbors were friendly and this locale is within comfortable walking distance of restaurants and commerce.

    Elizabeth2019-04-13T00:00:00Z

Welcome to the CLIFTON CRASH PAD. A perfect stop for the weary traveler, late night concert goer, bourbon tourist, foodie, etc A totally private apartment containing its own kitchen, two bedrooms (one very small) and bathroom. Its located on the top floor of an old Pope Street home built in 1900. Nestled in the heart of Clifton the space is just steps away from the neighborhoods most popular bars & restaurants.
This Airbnb gets a lot of traffic. I do my best to keep the space clean but there may be some dust in the corners and the bathroom is quite old (as is the house). I keep the price as low as possible and I do NOT include any extra cleaning fees. Also, my cancellation policy is pretty flexible. I know it says 'strict cancellation policy' but I am always open to work with guests if they need to cancel!
Some of the best restaurants/bars are within walking distance! The Silver Dollar, Ostra, The Champagnery, Hilltop Tavern, Butchertown Social, Spring Street Bar, ++ Many more.
  • Great little Victorian house and neighborhood with fantastic walkability to a bunch of good eats and drinks!

    Ariel2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cute and cozy and a short drive to great food and things to do. It was super clean and the lock box self check in was seamless. The front porch light was on when we got in so that was really nice. You do have to go up stairs to the front door, and then another flight of stairs to the unit once inside. Temperature control in the unit is great. The small second bedroom is as advertised with the walls touching the sides of the bed, which gave it a fun blanket fort feel to me so I called dibs on it and it was great. Would stay again!

Recently renovated studio apartment with loads of natural light, steps from award-winning local restaurants, bakeries, bars, and housed above our independent record store. We do our best to AirBnB ethically & responsibly. Revenue from this unit helps to 1) keep on-site residential rents affordable & increase-free 2) maintain the historic building & protect it from outside development while 3) help us steer our future as a brick and mortar independent business. Plus, NO HIDDEN CLEANING FEES!
This 600 square foot studio apartment has an open floor plan and a newly renovated bathroom. It is on the second floor with a rear entrance, and is the second of four tenant occupied units (one retail) in a turn of the century building.
We are located in the Clifton neighborhood on the top of the hill at Frankfort Ave and Pope Street. Clifton is an easily walkable neighborhood littered with local eateries and shops. It is also within just 2.5 miles of Cherokee Park, Butchertown, Nulu, Crescent Hill, the Highlands, and Germantown.
  • This was our first trip to Louisville and the best part of our trip was staying at Lisa’s loft! We felt completely at home and comfortable during our stay! The neighborhood offered easy access to many dining options and Derby events!

    Beth2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • A plus stay

    Kenny2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in this location. The apartment is exactly as described in the posting, even bigger than we expected. Be prepared for a tight parking spot, but we have a large sedan and we were fine. There is also a long narrow hallway and narrow stairs heading up to the apartment. Nothing unmanageable, but you might not want to carry everything in one trip! We never heard the neighbors, but there is a fair amount of street noise. We stayed here Friday-Tuesday, so it’s expected that there would be activity on the weekends. Lisa had left out earplugs for us in case we needed them which was so nice! We didn’t use them, but it was good to have there. The location worked well for us. We liked being close enough to some bars and restaurants we didn’t really have to go far. Silver dollar was a great bourbon bar! We went there every night. Hilltop tavern was also a good location. It looks like a dive, but don’t be fooled-their drink selection was great and their glassware was beer clean (a big deal to beer snobs like us). But we were also close enough for a short drive downtown, to butchertown, and other attractions. The neighborhood was very walkable and comfortable. Overall, I think we would stay here again! The value and cleanliness of the apartment are two huge pluses and that’s just the start.

  • Matt and I love to dance, we also love old Vinyl, to our delight the apartment was located above a record store and there was a turn table in the room with nice music selections. The space was large enough to jitterbug to a few songs before walking across the street to dinner. This area of town has a lot of interesting venues ! The parking and back entrance are convenient, but don’t make a good first impression. there are A lot of stairs up to the room which wasn’t a problem for us. The place is really nice . we will be back

Our home is located in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood, just east of downtown. We are conveniently located close to the major Interstate highways; I-71, I-65 and I-64. We're a short drive from many of Louisville's best restaurants, beautiful parks, and just ten minutes from the KFC Yum! Center and 15 minutes from exciting horse racing at historic Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby! It's a perfect home for couples, business travelers and families (with kids).
The rental space is extremely large; 1,650 square feet. It includes nearly the entire lower level of our ranch-style house. We completely upgraded the apartment seven years ago including installing a new, modern kitchen. The full size windows in both large bedrooms and the huge entertainment area look out onto a beautiful garden area and lush, private back yard. Because there is only one bath available and two sofas, we will not allow more than 6 adults per visit.
Our neighborhood is made up of private homes, most of them built in the 50s and 60s. It is a beautiful, very quiet neighborhood. But we are conveniently located just one minute from I-71 and two miles from I-65 and I-64. So getting here is easy! And we're just twelve minutes from downtown Louisville where you can explore a number of museums like the Muhammad Ali Center, The Louisville Slugger Museum and Whiskey Row. The KFC Yum Center, home of the Louisville Cardinals basketball teams and some of America's great live entertainment, is a short ten minute drive from our house.
  • What an amazing find! This place was perfect. Exceptionally clean and in such a great location. Close to downtown, shopping, and many local attractions. Excellent Amenities made it feel like home. Steve and Martha were very helpful in suggesting the best ways to get around and they were very informative on Louisville and it's many attractions. I will definitely stay here every time I'm in the area.

    Denise2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful stay. Steve and Martha were so warm and friendly. We loved staying there. There were three of us, and the two bedrooms were the perfect size. The host provided personal heaters for each bedroom for us to use as needed. The location was fine for us. It was very private, and quiet. The satellite tv, magazines, kitchen, and the fresh cut flowers in our bedroom were all super nice touches. Can't wait to go to Louisville again.

    Awilda2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, spacious home with friendly hosts! The kitchen is awesome, the living room is large enough for a family to spread out comfortably, and the beds were very comfortable. We will be back when we are in town again.

    Kim2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Martha were great hosts! They helped and it was a pleasure to stay at there huge unit. Next time I would definitly book it again!!

    Sabreena2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Steve stayed in constant contact with me up until the arrival, even giving me road updates as construction was taking place in the city during my drive in. Him and his wife are some of the best in the business. I will for sure be staying again!

    Joshua2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and stayed here for one night, and we loved it! It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and within minutes of the local sights and food. Steve and Martha were quick to respond to our queries, and very welcoming. I enjoyed our stay very much, and highly recommend this place. Will definitely book this place again if I'm in the area.

    Keshia2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house was extremely spacious, had all the amenities we could have had need for and the overall grounds and neighborhood was just beautiful! Both Steve and Martha from the beginning made us feel welcome and were so hospitable and kind. We rented from them during our daughters graduation and wedding weekend and they made our stay so comfortable and calming and even allowed us to use their backyard for pictures, which Steve generously mowed the lawn for us (even after he did so, two days earlier) just so we could take photos with pristine looking grass! Will definitely stay here again and already told friends and family to stay with them whenever they visit Louisville.

    Robert2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was an amazing host! He was there to great us when we arrived and was full of tips for exploring Louisville. The suite is absolutely massive. The living room and kitchen were incredible for a basement suite and the bedrooms were very comfortable. Probably will stay again!

Clifton is a neighborhood east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky USA. Clifton was named because of its hilly location on the Ohio River valley escarpment. Unlike other Louisville neighborhoods, Clifton was developed over a period of 60 years, with the first homes built in the 1860s sitting next to homes built in the 1910s, although nearly all homes were built in Victorian styles. Its residential areas are also much less dense than other nearby areas like Butchertown or the Original Highlands. The Louisville and Lexington toll pike, which is now called Frankfort Avenue, went through the heart of the area and was lined with small shops. The area began to revitalize in the 1990s, as numerous restaurants, boutiques, and antique shops opened up along Frankfort Avenue. Area attractions many restaurants, coffee shops, book stores & thrift shops!
  • tom's place was super clean, the beds were comfy, and the check-in process was a breeze... this older style home, however, probably didn't match our tastes - the older floors were VERY loud & creaky and made it tough for us to not disturb the others who were travelling with us... i'm not sure there is anything that can be done about this, but if you're sensitive to such noise, you may want to be aware...

  • All Good!

  • Great location, good restaurants within walking distance. Nice neighborhood, seems to be an area that's rejuvenating. Short uber ride to downtown Louisville. Nice apartment, with old time charm. Clemens and spacious.

    John2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. It was fun to stay in a quaint old apartment. Enjoyed the large selection of restaurants close by. It didn’t look like the place got cleaned before our arrival, therefore we wouldn’t want to stay there again.

    Peter2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is a nice place and the host is very responsive. Unfortunately the television set was broken our first night and we had to wait until the following day but he did manage a replacement by he following morning which was impressive. The shower drain was also clogged during our stay which cause you to have to stand in sitting water but a simple snake would fix it. There is also not much room on the toilet. Besides these minor complaints it is a clean location with lots of space and a good kitchen and great location. I honk we just got a tad unkucky!

    Greg2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location with a variety of activities within walking distance. There were more restaurants nearby with a great selection than I could hit in the week I stayed here. Pretty much everything was within walking distance or a short drive away. Comfortable home with a well stocked kitchen.

Friendly, safe and quiet stay at our home in the Clifton neighborhood. We are less than a block away from the Frankfort Avenue Business District, one of the main restaurant corridors in Louisville. Transit Authority of River City (TARC) bus stop is on the corner. Downtown is 5 minutes away - the airport is about 15 minutes. The Mellwood Arts Center is about 3 miles. About 2 blocks in the other direction, downhill, is a Kroger grocery store, several more restaurants and 2 gas stations.
  • Janice's place was a great location, near a lot of restaurants. I really enjoy my time at her place. She make me feel like at home. She is amazing person.

  • Great place to stay in Louisville! Tremendous hospitality and quiet and relaxing.

    Roman2018-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very considerate in keeping me informed about anything going on with the stay or in the area! She helped and provided dishes when needed. There was plenty of privacy & consideration for my time and needs. Check in was well & she helped me with carrying anything in I needed. Upstairs gets kind of warm in the day and is comfortable at night with plenty of fans. If you like to sleep in very cold (60°) then you may have challenges. I would recommend this place!

  • My stay was comfortable, quite, and peaceful. Jen is an amazing host

    Kawthar2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • I experienced Jan's place as described on the site. I appreciate that she was extra conscientious for me to understand both the benefits and limitations of her listing. I found Jan to be extremely accommodating and thoughtful, and she also allowed me to keep a couple of large items in her garage. One of the best things is the very short and interesting walk to Frankfort Ave with a neat restaurant and shop scene. And an easy walk the other direction to Kroger.

    Chance (Ross)2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Janice is super sweet host. She made oatmeal on the day of check in. She went out of her way to get me gallon water bottles. I would definitely recommend her!

Our house is located in the heart of Clifton. You’ll be walking distance from bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. This is a walkout basement space with one bedroom, full bath, and common space with sofa bed, dining area, and European style kitchen complete with coffee maker, microwave, fridge, two-burner countertop stove, pots/pans, cooking utensils, toaster, and more. There is a private entrance with keyless access, dedicated off-street parking, and comfortable patio space.
As of August 2018 the space is fully renovated. The only quirk is the low, 6ft clearance at the 42” wide entry door. Friends call it the hobbit door. If you’re a super tall person be careful entering the space and potentially when showering, 6’3” clearance to the rain shower head. Normal ceiling height in the space is 9’.
We live in one of the best neighborhoods in town. We are a block or two away from anything you could need. Restaurants, coffee shops, drugstores and groceries, bars, ice cream, boutiques and record shops; you name it, it’s within walking distance. We are a 5-10 minute drive from downtown and about 15 from Churchill Downs. If you need recommendations, I work in the hospitality industry and have been to most of the distilleries, breweries, restaurants, museums, etc. in the area.
  • Stylish and comfortable.

  • Charles and Cindy were great hosts and provided us with a wonderful first Airbnb stay.

    Pete2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location close to everything Frankfort Avenue has to offer. Charles’s place is spotless and has everything you could think would be nice to have and then more. Check-in and communication was simple. My husband said that the fold out couch was the best he’s ever slept on; it felt like a bed.

I could tell that Vonnette is someone who cares, and it was obvious in our interactions. I would definitely stay with Vonnette again.

  • This beautiful Victorian home will not disappoint. I stayed for almost 3 weeks with my 2 cats while I was in the area for an externship & I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I definitely recommend for any fellow travelers.

    Aylin2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house is an increadible Victorian home and Vonette is a wonderful hostess. Please note that the room has a half bath (shared full bath, I never encountered anyone in there). If you want TV bring a laptop. There is no TV in the room. The bed is a single. Even though I didn’t see Vonette a lot. She was very comforting in a tough time. I feel like I got a new friend after my stay.

Located in the heart of Historic Clifton and Crescent Hill, this little carriage house is the perfect getaway! Just minutes away from downtown and walking distance to the best restaurants and shopping Louisville has to offer. The carriage house has a cozy atmosphere with one bathroom, living/working space, kitchenette and one bedroom with two twin size beds.
This quaint guest house behind out historic Victorian home, was previously a pottery studio. We currently use it as a guest house and call it our "barn" as we have free range chickens in the yard which you will find outside the front door frequently! (If the poultry bothers you, there is an alternative entrance!) Guests are welcome to use or join us at our fire pit which we frequently (depending on the weather) enjoy a cup of hot cocoa or a cold beer around in the evenings.
Our neighborhood is full of charm, friendly folks, unique shopping and awesome food!
  • I was in Louisville for a conference and would have appreciated WiFi and a full-length mirror. Those are literally the only two criticisms—and I wouldn’t even call them that. It is a quaint little place stocked with coffee and bagels. Absolutely great location for the price! Watch for the low ceiling!

  • Location was great with bars close by/walking distance. Small but it did the job. Very beautiful inside and extremely secure we both felt very safe! Would highly recommend

  • Amazing design and warm ambiance. Stylish decor and the bed is super comfy. Clean shower room. All new, just been renovated. Easy check in. Super fast response from the owner. I loved this place. Just the location is not that convenient, as not too much around and need to Uber to downtown (5 minutes drive). But for the price, it was great value for money! Highly recommended to stay there.

  • Great location, classy, clean and well furnished, easy check-in, accomodating and communicative hosts, walking distance from lots of great food/venues in Butchertown & NuLu.

  • I did enjoy the location of this apartment. It was very easy to get from place to place and was very close to some good restaurants. The bed sagged in the middle and the bar across the street got pretty loud on Friday night. Other than that it was a fine stay.

    Justin2019-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Maggie's place is wonderful. Great location, fairly quiet, and full of character. When parking, I would suggest backing in as it can be difficult backing out onto story ave. Brilliant experience and stay.

    Victor2018-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and convenient. Will stay there again.

    Kari2019-05-08T00:00:00Z

Or, stop by Hadley Pottery for an inside look at how the iconic stoneware is made. The remaining front facade of the former early 19th century Heigold House, which features a detailed sketch of important early Whig Party leaders. • The room was great! Perfect size and exactly what we needed for the night!

    Megan2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The space was good for the price. Parking was a bit tight but nothing we couldn’t manage. The area is nice and quiet but with lots of restaurants and bars around and within walking distance. Would definitely recommend for a weekend. Anything longer and the space is a bit small for that.

    Lindsay2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was perfect. Comfortable bed, easy to access, and close to great bars while still being a quiet spot. I hope to stay here again next time I'm in Louisville.

    Meryl2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place had everything we needed for our 1 night trip. This seemed to be a very safe area and felt comfortable walking around outside. There was some amazing places to dine and to get drinks not far from the door. Everything was perfect for us and will definitely return again the next time I’m in town. I can not recommend this place enough.

    Richard2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The room is such a great space to stay in, containing everything you could need. The location is also great because it is downtown and close to so many areas for activities such as museums, restaurants, and the baseball field

    Samantha2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, dark, quiet-a great place to get a good night’s sleep. Nice shower!

    Cara2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This a great little place to stay if you want to be near downtown but out of the way a bit. The space is really cute and had all the things I needed for a relaxing trip. Soft bed with lots of pillows, pretty bathroom, a wide chair to leave my suitcase on, and an outlet by the bed for charging. The rack with hangers is also nice as I had a floor length dress to hang up. I also felt very safe here as a woman traveling alone. There aren’t a ton of things nearby within walking distance, but there’s a pub across the street (which I didn’t check out) and the American Printing House for the Blind is a few blocks away. I recommend taking their 30-45 min factory tour. Good breakfasts nearby: North End Cafe is a couple blocks (go for the cheese grits), Nancy’s Bagel Grounds is a bit farther but a nice walk and I like the atmosphere (try The Willinger on an everything bagel). There’s also a Valero convenience store along the way if you need snacks. All within walking distance. For disabled travelers: looks like there’s only stair access but there are solid hand railings. Would most definitely stay here again.

  • This is a nice place in a GREAT location. We would stay here again.

    Debbie2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was spotless, comfortable and equipped with all the necessities including hair dryer and curling iron and a Keurig coffee maker, as well as a drip device for we old school coffee lovers. The location is ideal for enjoying LOUISVILLE sites and cuisine. I would return with pleasure.

  • What a joy to stay here! Instead of a sterile hotel I opted to stay at Tom's place for a conference and it was a great experience. Totally quiet, great morning coffee on the sun porch, 2 minute walk to Nancy's Bagel Grounds for a delicious breakfast, and a cheery 1 minute walk to catch the bus to my conference hotel each morning. I had everything I needed and more. Just sorry I couldn't explore the neighborhood more but the conference absorbed my time from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Easy bus & Uber access throughout the city.

    Rebecca2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Tom’s place! Very close to tons of food/shopping options and a very central location to be able to get all over the city.

    Amy2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic stay in Louisville, thanks to Tom. The apartment was charming and the neighborhood was very quiet. Tons of great eats close by. Our host was very responsive to questions and requests.

    Mary2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The property was as described. It was clean and comfortable. The parking area at the back was good since street parking was limited. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. TV was limited but we weren't that interested anyway. Overall it was what we wanted and expected.

    George And Pam2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • First floor apartment around the corner from great restaurants and coffee shops. Central to most any attraction, or a short drive away. Would really call this a one bedroom , with a funky layout but it gets the job done.

    Clay2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stay was perfect. The home was extremely clean and pleasant. Check in and out were very easy. Tom was wonderful to work with. We will come back here if we are ever in Louisville again. The location was perfect as well-- just a quick few minute drive downtown, but there are a few great little places that are walk-able from the house. Highly recommend staying here.

  • This apartment is beautiful and clean and so comfortable. So many great things to do in walking distance too..a fabulous place

    Barbara2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty good for my needs, although a bit of an issue with the check-in process. I would just make sure you have to code to the front door and the room door! Pet-friendly, which was a major plus in my book. This room is right across from a stairwell which was convenient for potty breaks. Everyone else in the apartment seemed to have dogs, which is something to take into account if your dog is nervous around other dogs and the little potty areas are well-used. The bed was very comfy and everything was clean. Nice hot shower and a very functional kitchen! As others have mentioned, there is a train and there are neighbors, so for very sound-sensitive people, this may not be the best bet. I didn't have a problem, though. The location is awesome. The wifi password is in the book (I missed it at first!) and a key fob for entry access and a parking pass are provided. Overall, I would say make sure your AirBnB app is working, as that's the only way to get in touch with the host. Walter is very responsive through that. If you need assistance getting into the room, just make sure you're there before 5pm as that's when the office staff leave. Again, the location is great!

  • Great place and neighborhood.

    Sarah2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful Air BNB! The Apartment had everything that I needed for a little get away. Comfortable bed, fast internet, very clean and close to several yummy restaurants but tucked away from the bustle of Downtown Louisville. I would stay here again!

    Lillian2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, amazing restaurants within walking distance. Loved the decor and linens, everything was very comfortable (including the extra air mattress). One thing to note is that the apartment is located next to an active train track, you may want to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. However it was not super disruptive and we would definitely stay here again if in the area!

    Caitlin2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Too strict and not a very nice person

    Amber2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and a clean, private 1 bedroom apartment. you don't have to share with an existing tenant at all. it is exactly what i want in an Air BnB

    Jeff2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Walter's apartment was perfect for my weekend stay in Louisville. The area was really cute. It was right outside of Downtown so you are away from the craziness, but still close to many shops, restaurants and bars. The apartment itself was decorated adorably and was perfectly clean. The only downside was the train that is right behind the apartment complex. It was extremely loud and ran throughout the night and into the early morning.
