Beautifully remodeled, super clean, one-bedroom house built in the 40's. Open concept, lots of light, airy interior, tons of vinyl. This property is less then a mile from downtown and is walking distance from hopscotch coffee, the IU campus, and Bryant park.
WiFi, Roku TV w/ Netflix, Hulu, & HBO. Fully remodeled kitchen and a large, brand new sectional makes for a delightfully proper 2nd sleeping space. While the interior of the house is finished, the exterior and the landscaping are still in progress.
This is a quiet, friendly neighborhood. We love our neighbors so please be respectful :)
  • Super cute, eclectic vibe in the house.

  • Drakes place is great. It has a lovely feel and beautiful natural light. Also a sensational record collection. Many thanks!

    Joe2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is phenomenal. We loved the aesthetic and style of the home. The record collection is a treasure and really added to our stay. All the furniture is comfortable and made for a relaxing place to come back to during a wedding weekend in Bloomington. On top of that, Drake was super communicative, very responsible, and nice to talk to. Highly recommend

  • We had a great stay at Drake's place! The home is comfortable and in a convenient location. We loved the kitchen and the projector to watch Netflix/Hulu. Communication with Drake, and check in and check out was easy. We would definitely stay at his place on our next trip to Bloomington.

    Courtney2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed at lots of wonderful places in Bloomington and nothing came close to Drake’s perfect and beautiful home, it’s a lovingly decorated and distinctly curated cozy, comfortable space. I loved it and I hope to stay there every time I’m back on the IU campus. Thanks, Drake!

    Kathleen2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Drake's space was perfect for our stay in Bloomington. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. The turntable and vinyl collection along with projection TV were great features that we took advantage of. Would certainly come back next time we need a place in Bloomington.

    Robert2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a clean space with a cool vibe. Comfortable with air conditioning. Lots of light. Really neat projector TV system.

    Darcy2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super-convenient to downtown. Bright, clean, comfortable. Drake's communications are excellent. Recommended.

  • This place is PERFECT for a stay in B-town! Unique, stylish, well-stocked and great common area as well. They have check-in down and it makes walking in and getting settled easy. Loved it.

  • The walnut room was lovely, close to everything, extremely easy to access. Would absolutely stay here again, now we just have to try the other rooms!

    Natalie2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Walnut Street Inn is truly a gem. Very easy and convenient to check in and perfectly located a short walk to everything. The Walnut room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We’ll definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

    Wells2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • All in all, a solid option in Bloomington. Bill and Paige's place, which is located on the top (second) floor of a commercial building, is sort of a hybrid apartment-hotel. It features several self-contained units, each with its own bedroom/bathroom/mini-fridge, and a common kitchen space and private (and free!) parking in the rear. Despite having no staff on site Paige is an excellent communicator and check-in/out was super smooth. It's definitely an old building (little soundproofing, outdated bathrooms) but overall the Walnut Street Inn is a good bang for your buck - more space than a standard hotel room, less expensive, and with more character.

    Gwendolyn2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • First time using an Airbnb and it was fantastic. We were on our honeymoon and we felt so much at home!

    Kristin2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bill & Paige’s place is the perfect location, right in the center of Bloomington. The value is great, the place is much cozier than your standard hotel. Check in was super easy, and with parking included it was definitely the right pick for us!

Quiet peaceful room in the arts district walking distance to downtown Bloomington and Indiana University. Close to shopping, restaurants, IU's campus, B-line trail, Lotus Fest, Hilly Hundred and so much more!
We want you to feel at home when you stay here. Please feel free to use the kitchen, porches, patio, swing, and laundry.
Lots of locals here in the neighborhood professors, graduate students, and families. We love the location since we can walk to Bloomingfoods organic grocery store, live music, Wonderlab, bars, restaurants everything!
  • I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. It was a wonderful place and Peggy was a great hostess. Her little dog Lucy was a sweetheart. I would highly recommend her place in a heartbeat.

    Kathy2018-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy’s place was very clean and tidy. We had to leave before breakfast, which was a total shame. The house was stylishly decorated, the bed was unbelievably soft, and the location was just a short walk from downtown Bloomington. Would recommend!

    Claire2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for recharging! If I lived next door I would still book a room with her periodically. The room is nice, simple, and comfortable. The special part is the very special host. She’s sweet, smart, helpful, and makes everyone feel at home. It’s in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of downtown shops. Her dog Lucy is very sweet as well. I highly recommend this.

    Kimberly2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Peggy's place, it's clean and she is a wonderful host.

    Ashley2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Peggy's place for a little over 2 weeks. Her place is in an excellent location. It is less than 15 minutes walk to downtown in a quiet neighborhood. The room was clean and quiet. In addition, if you are staying long term, there's a parking spot for your car in the back, laundry service and a kitchen. Peggy was kind enough to cook me excellent breakfast every morning before I left for work. She even dropped me off at the airport when I was checking out. Peggy also gave me valuable tips about places to live and see in Bloomington. Talking to her about Indiana and Bloomington over the weekends was fun. Her place is a hidden gem and I would strongly recommend that you stay here if you are visiting Bloomington.

    Tushar2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • She is one of the best hosts that I ever met. Nice and clean place Most recommend

    Anas2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy is a very gracious and easy going host. Her home is like the pages of a magazine in terms of aesthetics, its very vibrant yet homely. She has nice pet dog, Lucy, who was very mindful of me when it realized I was not a super animal fan. My brother enjoyed hanging out with the dog. Peggy was great conversationalist and available when needed. Her home is accessible to many cities in various directions, namely Indianapolis was just an hour away. A local social security office is just 8 minutes away. For people moving to Indiana state and need to be in multiple cities for various resources, her place is a great one to call home base as you run errands while awaiting for a home wherever you are settling, particularly on the southern side of the state.

    Priya2019-06-26T00:00:00Z

  • Speaking to the host, very honestly, is like speaking to your next-door neighbor. Or to an old friend. It wasn't strictly business and it was very easy and welcoming. Helpful, too. When initially there was no room available, she made calls to other locations and called me back. Fortunately, they weren't needed.

    Gary2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot, Paige is a sweetheart, You can't stay anywhere nicer in Bloomington for a better price. If you have the option between this and some of the hotels downtown, the two aren't even comparable. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and they allow you to bring your dogs along with. I'm from Bloomington so we will be back, my partner and I are going to try and stay at the Walnut Street Inn every time.

However Bill and Paige were very courteous to re-house us and ensure we had excellent accommodations during our Bloomington stay. Thank you Bill and Paige! We look forward to staying at the Walnut Street Inn during our next Btown visit!

  • We had an amazing time staying at this perfectly located apartment. Avery and Lisa were great hosts and were quick to respond with check-in and parking questions. This apartment is located perfectly if you want to experience downtown Bloomington. Easy to walk to all the cool shops and places to eat. The apartment itself was also so cute and had all the comforts we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely stay here again in the future.

  • This place was wonderful. Booking and checking in were easy and convenient. The price and location were both great and I felt at home staying here.

    Lauren2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location near the square. Accurate about the noise, even on a weeknight at midnight, so be aware of that. No extras like a bottle of water, etc. like most hosts I've visited, but spacious for the price. The host answered my call at 11 p.m. when I was lost and could not find or see the location easily in the dark, which was appreciated.

Charming, Little Blue, studio guest house near B-Line trail, Cardinal Spirits, Hopscotch Cafe with easy access to Indiana University and downtown Bloomington. Enjoy the open concept studio environment with kitchen, dining area, and living space to relax after enjoying all Bloomington has to offer.
  • Stayed at Matthew's little blue house for a college get together. I brought my bike and it was perfect; ride down the hill to get to the B-line, was downtown in a couple of minutes. The space was clean. The memory foam bed was comfortable. I liked the smell of the wood! Would stay again the next time I visit Bloomington.

  • Came through for an interview at IU and Bill and Paige's place was a wonderful place to stay. Great location for both exploring downtown and being close to campus. Beautiful space with delicious local teas available to wind down at the end of the night. Highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in the Bloomington area!

    Catherine2019-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect location if you are visiting the IU campus. The comments on the noise are correct, it does get noisy. The sound machine helps a lot and it wasn't until later on Saturday night when there was anything slightly bothersome. But then, why would you come to a college town and expect it to be serene and peaceful. Everything we needed for the stay was there in the room or in the shared service area. We liked it a lot.

    Cheryl2019-07-13T00:00:00Z

    Steve2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great space in a great location with good amenities. There was a lot of street noise, which is to be expected so close to the square. But they offered ear plugs and a white noise machine which I really appreciated!

    Rachel2019-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot to experience Bloomington. Fantastic common areas and clean spacious rooms. Easy self check in with quick responses from the hosts. There is definitely street noise but they are up front and acknowledge it. They have done what they can to minimize the noise but that all part of being part of a college town’s main strip I would recommend this place and stay here again. But not ideal for light sleepers.

THE ARTIST RETREAT is ideally located in the FAR Gallery District, in walking distance to Bloomington's happening downtown, the B-Line Trail and the beautiful IU campus. Galleries, dining and entertainment abound. The architecturally designed Artist Retreat is perfect for an ambient urban stay, either for leisure or work. The contemporary interior features a sunny and well-lighted living room with convertible sofa/futon, Euro-style kitchenette, spacious bedroom with work niche, and bathroom.
  • Nice place with a good location. Clean and well-kept. Easy to get around Bloomington from the apartment. Just wish the place was labeled as a 1-bedroom instead of a 2-bedroom, given that the second one is really just a living room / kitchen. Douglas was helpful about communicating, checking in / out. Would stay again but probably only if I was going just as 1 person or with a significant other.

  • Douglas's apartment was is a lovely part of town surrounded by art galleries and across from a bakery. I could also walk a few blocks to a market for groceries and to nightlife destinations. The apartment is set up well with 2 spaces that can be closed off by a door for privacy. The bathroom made a longer term stay a little difficult as the shower was small and so was the mirror. Bed was super comfy and the futon was easy to manage. Douglas was accommodating and quick to respond.

    Valerie2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect for experiencing Bloomington. We rarely took the car for a spin. We walked downtown comfortably several times, and the bakery across the street was so convenient. And yes, the Circle K a block away was great. It's a little sparse in the apartment, but you are there to experience a sweet, wonderful town, and this is a very central location. We were pleased, and very relaxed there.

  • This home is in a great location, easy walking to B-Line, a grocery store, the farmers market, and downtown. Valeria was easy to communicate with (although we didn't encounter any problems), and the check in was simple. We thought it was a bit overpriced for the quality of the home, however, as the carpet is quite old, the futon is extremely uncomfortably, and the home is generally a bit run down.

    Tammy2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Valeria has a wonderful home. Very clean and well decorated. The communication was excellent, she responded to my inquiries right away. The location is perfect, about one block away from Indiana University’s hospital. There is also ample parking available. Book with Valeria!

Amazing deck overlooking the courthouse square! New kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave. The manager of the property works nearby, is easily accessible, and brings 18 years of property management experience with him.
Included in the studio-style space: full private bath, private entrance, access to 4th floor rooftop deck, large closet, queen bed, wi-fi, bed & bath linens, table & chairs, mini-fridge, microwave, Keurig with coffee and tea. it is very similar to a hotel-style set-up but with an amazing rooftop deck.

  • Great place, great location, great price. It is downtown in a college town so you should expect it to noisy but it wasn't as bad as I feared. Avery was very attentive and kept me in the loop about everything. Place was clean and perfect for our needs. Right across from a brewery with some really good beer and plenty of public parking and if you get lucky you can find free parking in the 6th street lot. Walking distance to IU campus and all the restaurants and nightlife.

    Armando2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at the studio apartment! We loved the rooftop access and location couldn't have been better! I have to agree it does get a bit noisy due to the location but it wasn't a problem. Thoughtful to leave ear plugs in the room just in case. There isn't a thermostat to change the room temperature but they provide extra blankets. Overall, this was a good place to stay and if we come back we would 100% stay again.

Bloomington, Indiana USA. VERY IMPORTANT!! NO FRAGRANCES OR SCENTED PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS. PLEASE!! Welcome to my huge sunny very private guest room w private 1/2 bath. It's up easy stairs over the kitchen addition on the back of my 114 year old house. It's 4 blocks from downtown and 1 mile from the edge of the IU campus. 2 very friendly indoor cats live here. They are not allowed in the guest room but occasionally they sneak up there. Again please, NO FRAGRANCES !!
The room-which is the nicest one in the house- has a queen sized bed, couch, Wi-fi, TV with no cable but has a Roku box with Netflix, desk and folding table. There is a local calls only phone in the room as well. You can arrange the furniture whatever way you like! There is also a large closet that has a small ironing board and iron stashed away. The bed has down comforter and pillows although a regular quilt, down free pillows and blankets are available. All bed linens are 100% cotton. Sheets and towels are dried outside in the sun on the clothesline whenever possible. The room has hardwood floors with no carpet and the acoustics are wonderful. The couch is large enough and comfortable enough to sleep on in case you need space for a third person or prefer not to share the bed with your companion. There is a private ½ bath there. The main bathroom downstairs (not part of a master suite) has an extra long claw foot tub and a 5 ft square walk- in shower with water jets and grab bars on the walls. This bath is shared. I have 2 friendly cats if you'd like some purr therapy. Musicians-especially folk and classical- and artists are quite welcome- in addition to everybody else! There is room enough for rehearsal space for unamplified music. 11p.m is noise curfew time all over Bloomington. I’m also LGBT friendly and welcoming. Folks of all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds are welcome in my home.
I live on 1/6 acre 4 blocks from downtown Bloomington. There is a large church on one side and an old house that has apartments on the other side. Since I heat with wood in addition to furnaces and have a moderate sized garden it is easy to pretend that I live in the country! It is a pleasant quiet neighborhood of older homes and apartments. It’s just 4 blocks from downtown, 1 mile from the western edge of campus and 3 blocks from the B-line walking/biking trail. I am 1 block from a bus line. I am 6-7 easy blocks from the Convention Center. The airport shuttle has a drop off just 4 blocks from the house. There is a wonderful food co-op with restaurant 2 blocks away and other restaurants, bars, groceries, and performance venues very close by as well. Saturday mornings much of the year there is a fabulous farmers market just 3 blocks from here.
  • Becky and I had a wonderful time at Barb's place. She and her cats were great hosts and we hope we can stay there in the future.

    Jackson2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Barb's place was comfortable, convenient, and easy. Barb made it super easy to access the space and she made me feel totally at home. The space was clean and very comfortable - the perfect temperature - and private. The location was great, very close to restaurants downtown. Her two fluffy cats were friendly and curious about me, but did not mind being kept out of the upstairs guest space. Great little touches with snacks and maps of the area. I will definitely stay again!

  • Comfy room with a cool bathroom :)

    Jessica2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is probably the fourth time I've stayed at Barb's house. I say this to let you know how comfortable and welcoming it is! She's the consulate host- both attentive and laid back. I highly recommend staying here for your Bloomington trip!

    Gerry2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Barb made me feel very welcomed, and the room was even better than I imagined. A great place to stay if you're in Bloomington. I will certainly have Barb in mind each time I revisit town.

  • Barb was a wonderful host. Very inviting, and even saved me some blueberry pie from her dinner. Highly recommend staying here.

    David2015-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous place to stay! I attended a conference that met at the IMU. Lovely room and scenic walk to campus from Barb's.

    Katherine2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Barb was an excellent host. Her Airbnb space is upstairs secluded from the rest of the house and is very spacious and quiet. Very flexible in check in. Her house is located in walking distance to downtown, local shops and restaurants, and only about a mile from Indiana University.

There were many thoughtful touches in the room like a pitcher of filtered water and a variety of snacks. The room is very spacious and comfortable with an en suite bathroom. I often have problems sleeping when I travel, but I slept great there!

  • Karla and Jim's home is absolutely gorgeous, and instantly inviting. The bed is more comfortable than our own, and if the weather had been a little sunnier I'd have spent a fair few hours in the garden. While Karla was away, Jim was an excellent host. Something came up that delayed our arrival by a few hours, but Jim was there to welcome us when we got in. They even provided a Keurig in the room so we could have some tea and coffee, and wake up cozily. Great location, great hosts--what more could you need?

    Elizabeth2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, i would stay here again easily. Very quiet room and bed very comfortable. Host was very accommodating and it was very clean.

    Ed2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • These accommodations were perfect for our quick weekend trip to Bloomington for both work and pleasure. The rooms were inviting, impeccably clean, and affordably priced. Karla and her husband were both welcoming and nonintrusive, and the house was in easy walking distance to all of our favorite Bloomington haunts. We also branched out and tried for the first time Cardinal Spirits for a late-night cocktail and loved it. The walk there along the B-line at night was especially nice.

    Lisa2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the house. Very nice bedroom and outstanding bathroom. I’ll book it again in the near future.

  • Travelers can expect to be welcomed very warmly and graciously into this home. It was a genuine pleasure to be a guest. This home is filled with warm and special touches making a guest feel truly at home. As a guest you are giving the opportunity to be included in mealtime, or given space to just be. This place was the perfect location for my stay.

This bedroom boasts a private entrance and is the former upstairs dining room of one of Bloomington's longest-standing restaurants. The room has since been converted into a spacious bedroom with private bath. A folding room-divider is available for a little more privacy.
This space used to be the main dining room of a French café, still located downstairs, that has been in operation since 1977. The space has since been partitioned into a generous bedroom, a cozy office room, and a bathroom. There is no kitchen but guests can make use of a private microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker located in the study. Other amenities such as an iron and ironing-board are available. Your host, Marina, will be happy to do laundry for guests staying longer than 3 days. Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty.
This Airbnb is located in the heart of downtown Bloomington, a block away from the square. It is within a 5-minute walk to most downtown destinations and is next door to Bloomingfoods, a local grocery market & deli co-op. It is flanked by the B-line, a rails-to-trails project peppered with joggers, strollers, and cyclists. If your stay is within April-November, you can enjoy the Bloomington farmers' market only one block away every Saturday morning.
  • Everything was perfect! Loved the location and the Breakfast was excellent! Thank you Winston and Marina! We will be back. Thanks, Colleen

    Colleen2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! Marina is a top notch host. We felt like we were staying with family. The location can not be beat. Adjacent to the B-line, Bloomingfoods, a dozen of restaurants and coffee shops...quick access to the University. Everything you could possibly need. Breakfast was delicious, the space had plenty of room and even more character. On the way home we decided that next time we will stay an extra day just to be home bodies and enjoy the space.

    Jade2018-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • There's a scene in the movie Ratatouille where the reviewer takes a bite of his food and is filled with joy and taken back to his childhood home. That's exactly how I felt the second I walked in to this place. I was in Bloomington for a college reunion and this was absolutely perfect. Right from the amazing record collection to the location I was set from the the get go. I think this place would suit absolutely anybody regardless of what they're in town for. But what really made this place special was the warmth of the hosts. The food and personal attention they gave me was mind-boggling. I absolutely adored them and I even asked Marina to adopt me. She politely declined but I'll definitely ask her again when I visit town. Seriously, don't make the mistake of staying anywhere else. This place made travelling all the way from Dubai worthwhile. Getting to see all my friends after years seemed like the cherry on top.

    Gaurav2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Just a really cute place with lots of space. The room is much bigger than the photos appear and having the little coffee shop around the corner was great. Walking over to the Farmers Market on Saturday morning was very convenient and getting breakfast through the window from the restaurant was great. Try the quiche and the crepes!

    Alice2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and a cool place to stay. Marina was an incredible host.

  • We had a lovely stay at Mariana's place. She met us at the door, walked us around the apartment, served us the most amazing breakfasts, and had included a very personal recommendation of things to do around Bloomington. The space is fun and unique -- high ceilings, tons of records (available to guests!), and the bed was nice and comfortable. We'll definitely be back in the future. Thanks!

  • Diane is such a wonderful host! I am starting IU this semester and brought loads of stuff (furniture, luggages etc) with me. She helped me find a spot and make it secured. She even prepared us cold drink and some food. She is also a lovely person to talk to! Plus, the location is so convenient, close to everywhere!

    Jon2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Diane prepared the place wonderfully! The refrigerator had eggs, bagels + cream cheese, cream for coffee, and sandwich fixings --all which made for a welcome stay. Everything was neat and tidy and clean as a whistle. The air conditioner and ceiling fan made for a pleasant climate while it was blazing hot outside during the day. Wireless connection was handy. Diane regularly checked in to see that we had everything and replenished what was needed part way into our visit. The addition of a toaster, plug-in electric burner, and water heater made it possible to cook simple meals, which was great so not every meal was required to have out. The neighborhood is wonderful, both close enough to walk into town and a beautiful area to go out for a stroll. A+

    Alexander2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was very easy to make arrangements with and super friendly! Her loft is clean and comfortable. It has all the amenities you may need--microwave, fridge, coffee/tea fixings--and is close to many restaurants and the downtown area. Diane is a great host and I would recommend staying here when in Bloomington!

    Claire2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's room was even better than we expected! Diane provided for everything we could possibly need. The fridge was stocked with snacks, there was a map of town, WiFi, a large comfortable bed, and plenty of clean towels. The air conditioning was a welcome treat after walking around in the heat all day. And Diane was very easy to reach whenever we had questions. We'll definitely come back the next time we're in Bloomington. 5 stars!

Approximately 600 sq ft. one bedroom, one bath located above a business. The bedroom is spacious with a queen size bed. The living room is studio like in the sense that the living area is open to the kitchen. I have a queen size air mattress that could fit on the floor and a sofa couch that could fit another person if needed. My place is pretty minimal. There is no TV, table for dining space or extra amenities. So if you just need a comfortable, clean, no frills place as base while in Bloomington for fun/work, this would be perfect for you especially since it is fairly central. You will need to climb a flight of stairs to get to the apartment so please keep this in mind prior to booking if it may be an issue.

The b-line is also right behind my apartment and you could easily get to it for a run or stroll. 10 minute walk to the downtown square area that has many restaurants, The Tap, Irish Lion, Social Cantina and more! Another 5-7 minute walk and you'll reach Brothers, Bluebird, Switchyard Brewery 15 minutes from Kirkwood with KOK, Nick's, Chipotle, Five Guys etc. 15 minutes from the Sample Gates, the beautiful entrance to IU campus.

  • Great little spot enough for two people! Close to campus and downtown with easy parking. Great communication regarding policies and arrival information! Super easy…

  • My Wife and I stayed at Danielle and Alex's for IU Family Weekend. The location was excellent, just a short walk (8-9 minutes) or Uber to Nick's or the Sample Gates. Being able to park in the back of the property on not on the street was great. Everything was very new inside the space and clean. Nice, big bed. Only wish would be for a more quiet A/C unit. Great communication, would stay again.

    William2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to Kirkwood and Sample Gates of IU. Third time staying at 412 and would highly recommend to out of town visitors.

  • Great, clean 1BR close to IU. Spent the weekend while visiting son at IU and was perfect! Close to campus, could walk most places if you like to walk. Hosts very quick to reply. Would stay again.

  • 1. Wifi is too weak 2. Wall is too thin to prevent the noise from the main house.

    Shiyoung2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is awesome, comfortable, clean, and well decorated. It was really close from the IU campus, restaurants and entertainment. The check-in and check-out process was very convenient. Danielle and Alex are easy to communicate to and overall pleasant and helpful.

Thank you for viewing our listing. Our home is close to nightlife, downtown, Indiana University, and many family-friendly activities. We have lived here for twenty years and raised our family here so can help point you in any direction you want to go in Bloomington.
We have lived here for twenty years and raised our family here so can help point you in any direction you want to go in Bloomington. We would welcome your friendly dog if you are sure it would get along with our very mellow older dog and our overly friendly malti-poo puppy. We are willing to consider vacating house and making it all available to larger groups of responsible guests on IU graduation , move-in, parents, and other event weekends. We do have a two night minimum on graduation weekend. ( the local hotels have three night minimum at $600+ per night) We are 2 blocks from the city bus line, 8 blocks from the town square, 1 mile from campus, 6 easy blocks from the Hilton Garden Inn which is also an airport Shuttle pick-up/drop off place. We are 4 blocks from the B-Line multi-use trail and you are welcome to borrow our bicycles. In other words, we are super-duper convenient to most everything in town. Our home is clean, laid back, lived in, and comfy, but not fancy. We enjoy having folks use it. Your room has private entrance. Your door opens to a small hall that goes through the shared living room, to a bathroom next to the shared kitchen. The bathroom has a claw foot tub / shower. You are welcome to use the shampoos and soaps, towels, and we try our best to have extra personal items on hand for you. Access to high speed internet. Dorm refrigerator, stocked with, filtered water, cream, sweeteners, teas, coffee / coffee maker, and a microwave. You are welcome to use any food or appliances in our kitchen. There is a great food co-op with a deli and hot bar 5 blocks away and other downtown restaurants, bars, food trucks, groceries, and performance venues very close as well. Saturday mornings April - November there is a fabulous farmers market just 4 blocks from here. One Friday of every month (usually the first Friday) you will find a Gallery Walk, with art opening’s spread around a ½ mile downtown area 5 - 8 pm a short walk away. We do have a large friendly dog and a small malti-poo puppy that you are welcome to interact with or never see, your choice. With notice we could accommodate friendly pets (Sorry no cats, allergies) No tobacco smoking in house, but covered front porch or back porch is fine. Our back porch can be a great place to relax if temperatures are fair and usually the wifi works well out there too. If you can transport them to water, we have kayaks you can use. For an extra fee we can have someone transport them for you. We love to hike and can tell you many places to explore in all directions. We have a washer in our somewhat scary basement you may use. We do not have a dryer, but the clothes line in yard or drying rack in the house do the job. We’ll happily share our simple kitchen and staples for cooking along with a shelf in the kitchen fridge, with expectation you clean-up after yourselves. Wifi password and more information about your temporary home and town are available in your room. *** Prices for longer stays are negotiable.
Our area is one of the older neighborhoods in Bloomington. It’s called “The Near Westside”, some of us fondly call it “The Far-Out Near Westside”. It is mainly families who live here and is usually pretty quiet. There is a lot of history surrounding us, and a few blocks away is the old ‘fancy’ neighborhood, with walking, self-guided, architectural tours. We have large yards for being in town, a big park 2 blocks away, and the B-line trail for walking or bike riding is also a few blocks away. You are close enough for easy access to downtown and IU at this location, but not so close the vibrations keep you awake.
  • Jude's private room was great! They were very accommodating and welcoming and the stay was quite comfortable. The walk to downtown was easy. Definitely recommend for a nice stay in Bloomington!

    Zack2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jude was a spectacular host and her home is in a perfect location in the magical town of Bloomington. What a great 18 hours, conveniently located near the west side of campus, this older home is perfectly taken care of, lovingly really as all the "forest" surrounding their home in the middle of town is planted with native, yet rare trees! Just beautiful. Very homey and comfy. We so enjoyed mingling at times with some of the other guests, though we hardly saw each if that is possible? Can not wait to go back! Thanks Jude!

    James2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you are passing through Bloomington for any reason, this is your best option! A warm family home with a comfy bed and lovely hosts. Everything you need and only minutes from IU.

  • Jude was great, space was awesome!

    Barbara2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Very clean, personal touches, soft and comfortable bed, warm and cozy, and a great location were just a few of the nice things about our stay. We walked everywhere during our stay, too, so that was nice that we didn't have to move our car. The doggies were very lovable, too.

    Shannon2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The room is ideal for one person. It was super clean and cozy, and the backyard is delightful. Jude and her family were so friendly and welcoming to me and my dog. Plus, there was super-strong coffee in the morning, which is an A+ from me.

    Susan2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great rental for either 1 person or a couple. The room was comfy, cozy, and very clean. I really enjoyed the bonus features of a mini fridge (stocked with beverages) and my own private entrance. The location is perfect for walking to downtown area of Bloomington. The hosts are very friendly; I felt at home right away, even though it was my 1st airbnb experience. I highly recommend this spot and would for sure rent from them again!

This was all all original feature that we had restored with the original home. The bookshelf to your left when you first enter the property is actually a hidden door that gives access to the neighboring unit. For security purposes, we installed a second, high security door and double deadbolt so that the units are separated. Guests can still open and close the hidden bookshelf door to see a piece of history! The dining area is adjacent to the main kitchen and features a bar height table with four wooden chairs. The condo occupies the sweet spot of central Bloomington. It is so close to so much, yet still manages to be very quite and peaceful. The neighborhood is a nice mix of mostly single families and some college students. There is a wonderful food co-op with restaurant 2 blocks away. Two grocery stores about 7 blocks away (SaharaMart is an alternative grocery store focusing on local/ethnic/organic foodstuffs. And Kroger is a bigger and less expensive standard grocery). Bryan Park is about 3 blocks south. In the summertime you may encounter anything from "Music in the Park" to "The annual New Belgium Brewing's Clips Beer and Film Tour" there.
  • We enjoyed our stay here. We can’t say enough about the location and convenient access to wonderful restaurants and pubs. Communication with the hosts was easy, as well as check in and check out.

Upstairs suite in a beautifully remodeled 1926 Arts and Crafts Bungalow. This includes two rooms with a private bathroom. The bedroom has a Sleep Number bed (queen) that is very comfortable. The sitting area has a sofa and desk that makes a nice work, relaxation room. Located 1 mile to downtown near the B-line trail. The house is 2 blocks to the city bus line. You actually have the entire upstairs of my house. You will come into my space when you come and go.
The upstairs rooms are reminicent of your grandmother's attic room. It is very cozy and comfortable and it is highly decorated with quilts.
The neighborhood is a nice mix of smaller homes that have a lot of full-time residents and a few rentals. There is a coffee shop right down the street and a distillery within walking distance. The B-Line trail is also very close and an easy way to talk into town. Parking is on the street in front of the house. Public transportation is a few blocks to the east.
  • My brother and I had a great stay at the Quilter's Haven. We enjoyed complete privacy and had the entire upstairs at our disposal. It's located just a couple blocks from the B-line trail, providing great access to downtown Bloomington. Overall Georgia provided a great Airbnb experience.

    Riley2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great room! It was very clean and the check in process was quick and easy. Very quick response from the host and very friendly!

    Abbi2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia is a great hostess and even accommodated my 5am early rising hour. The space is generous with a small sitting room as well as bath. All very clean. Bathroom has sloped ceiling as advertised and not suitable for tall people. Great location near campus, good neighborhood and easy parking. A very comfortable place to stay.

    Carol2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a nice stay at Georgia's place. She was a good host and made us feel welcome. She also responded to our call promptly when we were stuck outside not able to open the door. Enjoyed talking to her about her interest in quilt making.

    Srinivas2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia is awesome! Adorable house. Really comfortable bed! Bathroom is nice and updated, but the ceiling is really low. My husband who is 6foot 3 couldn’t stand up straight in the bathroom. For 2 nights it worked out fine. Very comfortable space with nice amenities :) Close to IU campus .

    Teresa2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The space was nice. The stairs were very steep going into the house and up to the room and the bathroom space was very tight, but it worked out fine for us. We didn't shower there because it was a very short stay and we headed home early the next day. Everything was very clean. Georgia left breakfast bars and fruit out for us and was very friendly upon check-in. We were a little surprised that we had to walk through her living space to get to the stairs to our room, but I may have just missed that in the description and reviews. She has some beautiful quilts and quilt art, too.

    Tammy2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steps are more of an issue than you think. Steepness and narrowness would be a challenge for some folks. Georgia was careful to mention this.

    Paul2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia was great and you have your own upstairs space with a full bathroom. Free street parking. Highly recommend

This cozy home is a few feet off the B-Line Trail. It has been renovated and updated. Downtown Bloomington, Kroger and IU are within walking distance. It is across from Hopscotch Coffee and around the corner from Cardinal Spirits. There are queen beds in both bedrooms and a sofa sleeper in the living room. The house has one bathroom and will accommodate five. All furnishings are newer and cable tv / internet are provided. You will love staying here!
This house is nicely decorated and ideal for those who want to relax. Cleanliness is important to me, and I make it a priority when preparing for guests to arrive. The bedrooms have comfortable queen-sized mattresses with freshly laundered linens. The living room has an inviting couch and a recliner for watching television (cable provided). The TV has apps for your Netflix or many of your other TV services. Internet service is also provided. The bathroom is stocked with towels and washcloths. Starter soap and toilet paper are provided for your convenience. The kitchen is set up to allow you to cook your own meals. There is a gas range/oven, silverware, plates, glasses, knives and et cetera. You will find a modern glass table with chairs and counter space. There is not a dishwasher, so hand washing should be expected (Dish detergent provided). The house has a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer. You are welcome to use them. Laundry detergent is available for small users. If you are washing a lot of laundry, you can get detergent and other things at Kroger, a short walk north on the B-Line Trail. The home's location is ideal for those wanting to explore Bloomington, visit the IU campus, or attend an on-campus sporting event. From the B-Line Trail, across the street, you can access downtown Bloomington with many eateries and bars. You are across the street from Hopscotch Coffee, a very popular place to relax in the evening or get that caffeine fix early in the morning. IU is within walking distance or only a few mins. by car. Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall as well as other sport venues are 10 - 15 minutes by car. Sample Gates on the west side of IU's campus are ~ 1.1 miles away, a ~ 20-minute walk.
The house is part of the McDoel Historic District. For those interested in the history of the district and neighborhood, take a look at City of Bloomington's summary description on the web (Airbnb hides any website links I try to put in). Today, it is predominantly a smaller single-family residential area. It is on the near southwest side of Bloomington, close to downtown. The house is situated such that one can walk to get groceries (2 blocks), to get coffee, to access downtown restaurants, to get to the post office, to get to the hospital and et cetera. My favorite thing about the area is that you do not feel that you are in the center of everything, but in the McDoel neighborhood you essentially are.

  • We chose this unit because of the great location close to Indiana University. The busy night light of Kirkwood is close by, but it is a safe and quiet unit. Everything is clean and new. There were a few things missing, as it seemed they have recently completed the construction of the building. The most noticeable item was no cable TV service. The hosts were very kind and response to the questions we had. We would definitely return to stay here.

The home is in close proximity to dining, coffee shops, shopping, night life, and close to Indiana University's campus. Drive just a short distance to Assembly Hall, Memorial Stadium, or other fun happenings around town. At over 100 years old, this home's special qualities have contributed to make Bloomington the unique and beautiful town it is.
Entry into the home is off the back porch, through the laundry room- which offers guests a washer. The home offers 2 bedrooms with queen beds, (the bathroom is attached to one of the bedrooms), a pull out sofa bed, and twin bed located in the finished attic space (careful the stairs are a bit steep). In the kitchen there is a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, and some seasonings for preparing food. The house offers WiFi but we do not have cable. There is off street parking and a fenced in yard, pets may be considered for an extra $25 pet fee.
https://www.prospecthillneighborhood.org/ This home sits in Prospect Hills, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Bloomington. The architecture of the district represents various "high styles" popular between 1890 and 1925, a time of growing affluence in Bloomington. The neighborhood includes Queen Anne, Free Classic and Period Revival style houses, some designed by prolific Bloomington architect John Nichols. There are also several examples of vernacular style houses, two mid-nineteenth century houses with Greek Revival and Federal details and bungalows and American four-squares of the 1920s. This diverse group of homes is a microcosm of Bloomington's overall residential history.
  • Katie was a great host. The place was very clean, spacious, had coffee for the morning, and was an excellent location for exploring downtown. I left an item behind and they were kind enough to meet me later to retrieve it. Having the one bathroom inside a bedroom was a bit awkward for some guests using it in the middle of the night but if everyone is comfortable with each other it should be no big deal. Response time was great any time I had a question. The house was lovely, comfortable, and clean, and we couldn’t have found a better location.

  • Hundred year old home with lovely original wood features, lots of lovely amenities and great location to campus and downtown.

    Jennifer2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Katie’s home is in a quiet neighborhood, a short walk to Bloomington, the Rainbow Bakery and the BLine bike path. The home is full of character and charm and very spacious with high ceilings. Comfy beds and a cosy sitting room. We sat on the front porch to eat our breakfast and enjoy the friendly neighborhood. Katie generously left coffee and tea, wine and chocolate as well as spices, etc. She was very easy to get in touch with and overall we had a great stay!

We are located on the second floor of the oldest building in Bloomington which means you will be required to climb stairs. Furry friends (pets) are also welcome for an additional cleaning fee.

Great personal touches with items from the local venues!! 👏🏻 we also are very appreciative of natural elements. The woodwork was beautiful! We hope to return again soon!

  • Our stay here was incredible! We were only at this location for one night but we couldn't have felt more welcome in that night. Everything was easily accessible, beautiful, and so intentional. The location is close to a bustling public area but far enough away that you aren't too bothered with traffic. Peggy opened up her home and offered everything she could and it was wonderful!

    Caleb2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy is a wonderful host! She provided a binder with lots of suggestions on what to do in Bloomington. She was extremely helpful and even had coffee ready in the morning!

    Patricia2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience. The house tastefully decorated and was spotless. Check in was seemless. Peggy recommended local restaurants. I was traveling alone so when I engaged Peggy in conversation, we had a couple wonderful conversations. I would highly recommend staying with Peggy. And definitely take her up on her fresh breakfast. Yum!!! I will be back!!

    Stephanie2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy’s place is very relaxing, the bed is very comfortable and it’s so quiet around there, you’ll have a great rest! The house is very clean and Peggy is nice to talk with and very welcoming, she is a very sweet, grateful and adventurous person

    Liz2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house is great, the breakfast is delicious and Peggy is the sweatiest lady! Definitely, the best place to stay in Bloomington for a delightful experience. Highly recommended!

    Laura2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy was such a great host! Her home is very clean and close to downtown. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back if we visit Bloomington again.

    Kayla2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Previous reviews are all right on: Peggy’s hospitality is outstanding, and her place is clean, comfortable, and convenient. Very easy walking distance to everything in the lovely town of Bloomington. I told Peggy in advance that I have pet allergies, and she accommodated me with no hesitation.

    Jon2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy's place is very clean, quiet and super convenient location. She is a sweet person and communicated quicky prior to check in. The only issue after check in was that Peggy didn't reply to any messages sent regarding the high temp of the house when we checked in or our message about needing to leave a day early. Overall, as mentioned, Peggy is a lovely person and her space is super clean. :) Communication was the only tiny issue.

  • Loved being able to walk to fun restaurants and shops.

    Shannon2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect for out of town visitors. Right in the middle of everything.

    Tom2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't actually stay here - Bill and Paige were nice enough to let me reserve it for friends - They had nothing but compliments on the location's proximity to the campus and how cozy the room was. Thank you so much!

    Joane2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the Cedar Room. Location is fantastic. Loved the cabin-inspired decor. There was some street noise when the bars let out, but the hosts do provide a white noise machine and ear plugs. Considering this is a full suite it’s quite the steal!

    Will2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • I travel to Bloomington frequently and this was the third time I stayed at Bill and Paige's place, I hope it won't be my last. The location can't be beat - the apartments are located in the heart of downtown near many restaurants. Parking is provided, but in the summer street parking is easy to find too. Communication is great, and you can't beat the convenience of the keyless entry system. Thanks!

    Mark2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Check in was extremely easy. The location is perfect. Right on the square with lots of food and bars very close by. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. And the hosts were communicative and friendly.
