Cabin holiday rentals in Ennis

The cabin was the PERFECT get-away for us (from Montana) and old friends from Colorado, catching up for a few days. The cabin is even better than the pictures—beautiful, classic log cabin with all the comforts you could dream of. We loved hiking along a beautiful stream in the National Forest (less than a mile away), exploring ATV trails, picnicking on the Madison River, dinner out in Ennis and a fun afternoon in nearby historic Virginia City. We sat outside at the cabin, grilled dinner and just loved relaxing. I can’t imagine a more perfect cabin anywhere.

What an amazing time in Big Sky! The house was exactly as pictured. Conveniently located between town and the slopes. Comfortable beds, open floor plan, well equipped kitchen, hot tub and pool table were a plus. We felt right at home at this cozy cabin. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Our stay here was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to be back! The ranch was a beautiful scene filled with horses, hiking trails and fishing access. The house itself was just as great - a nice kitchen to cook in, a great amount of space for big groups, comfortable beds, and a lovely outdoor area to soak up the views. House was stocked with essential cooking and cleaning items which was very helpful. Beth was a great communicator and was there for us to assist with any questions we had. 10/10 experience, we did not want to leave!

Silver Star ranch was exactly what we needed. It was private and peaceful and a great place to launch two weeks of exploring from. we hit the tobacco root mountains, Virginia, Nevada, and Bannack ghost towns (Nevada & Bannack were our favorites), pioneer scenic byways and scouted dozens of off grid camping sites for next year in the various national forest. For pets, one thing to be aware at the cabin is are the prickly bears (small cactus)... bothered our German shepherds feet some. Local vet in Sheridan was great and gave us a spray to toughen pads while we were out. it really helped. We climbed the area behind the cabin too...good workouts each morning. Jim was a great host and easy to talk to. Thanks Jim!

Our group visited for a family ski trip. There was plenty of space for all of us and it was super close drive to big sky. Lindsey gave excellent recommendations for other things to do in the area and places to eat. Overall amazing experience!

This is a very nice and cozy home that treated us well on a ski trip in Big Sky. Joe was a very communicative host. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic amenities we used each day. Two things we were not expecting from the listing (but ended up not being issues) is that the hosts were onsite in an attached unit and the driveway was steep so AWD is required in the winter.

Wonderful hosts and absolutely beautiful home in an incredible and peacful location. The home is surrounded by wildlife and the creek in the back provides a calm and constant soundtrack that allows you to completely escape into nature. Folks in Alder are quite friendly and helpful as well.

Enjoyed our visit! Our first family vacation ever. We had a great time. It was peaceful , quiet and close to what we wanted to do. Went to Lewis and Clark Caverns . The beginning of the Missouri River. And visited Bannack Ghost Town. The guys went fishing and my 5 year old grandson caught his first fish at the kids fishing pond in Twin Bridges. Could not have asked for more.

Great place to stop over for the night! Sally and Erin were responsive and accommodating. Bed was comfortable and she's done a great job with the remodel, including a spacious shower. A grinder and coffee beans were much appreciated after a long night. While Sally's home and another airbnb were somewhat close, it was extremely private and peaceful and it felt like my dog and I were the only ones on the property. Book it!

If you are looking for a simple, clean, well-stocked home, this is it. We appreciated how well-stocked the house was with supplies and the abundance of towels. Robert was an excellent & friendly host who gave us awesome recommendations. We LOVED the simple check-out instructions & no cleaning fee charged. If you are a fisherman/woman, you will love the location right on the Madison River. We loved the area & being 30 min from Yellowstone. Great stay.

This place is so breathtakingly beautiful, and such a wonderful place to experience Montana and God’s creation! The hosts were so kind and even had farm fresh eggs for us to purchase to make breakfast with! The home was so cozy and we had such a good time barbecuing and sitting by the fire. The views were incredible! And we were just a short ways from Lewis and Clark caverns. We would 100% stay here again! There wasn’t air conditioning, but we just opened windows and had the fan going and it was perfect for June!

Beautiful outside the house was right out of the city what I was looking forward to but also not a far drive from the city seen wildlife out and about too

This house was just as pictured, very clean, and comfortable. The beds and living room were super comfy. Everything was in good condition and working order and it had everything we needed to cook meals or just relax on the porch. We loved the picnic table and chairs provided. The area is beautiful and quiet. Brian was super responsive and helpful with any questions I had. We hope to visit again soon.

We loved this location. It was a beautiful area of Montana and the house was perfect. We had a wonderful time!

I stayed at the Almosta Ranch Bunkhouse when in route to Helena. What a sweet spot! Although a studio the set up is perfect for one person or a couple with relaxing, dining,cooking, and sleeping. The kitchen has full size freg and various appliances that makes it possible to cook a meal or heat up leftovers and enjoy a glass of wine. It is fully equipped with amenities such as plug in kettle, toaster oven, cooktop, microwave and coffeemaker. The queen size bed is large and comfortable. I was there on a brisk evening warm and snuggled up in a wonderful warm comforter. The shower is great. Lots of hot water, it offers shelving to keep your toiletries accessible. In better weather one can enjoy strolling around the property, there is even a creek Although anyone would enjoy the charming “bunkhouse “ if you’re traveling with horses, you can keep your equine here and both enjoy a good evening’s rest. I will definitely stay here again when my travels take me to this beautiful part of Montana

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cabin! The perfect place to relax and enjoy all that Virginia City has to offer. Mark was easy to communicate with, friendly and very responsive. We’d definitely love to stay here again!

Our stay at Joe and Michelles cabin was AMAZING!!! From beautiful views to wounderful hospitality. We felt so at home in the cabin. They have anything you need and if they dont have something a quick call and they would bring it right over. I reconend this cabin to anyone looking for a home away from home. Very clean and beautiful!!! Dont let me forget the wonderful nights grilling on the deck and nights around the fire, with a beautiful mountain view. Loved that it was out of the busle of the city. Yet just a short drive to dinning- shopping- and MSU!!! Joe and Michelle are wonderful hosts they are willing to go out of their way to make you feel cozy and relaxed during your stay with them. We will definitely be returning to them for future visits to the area!!!

Our adult family (4) recently had the pleasure of staying at Drinking Horse Ranch and it was an unforgettable experience. The beauty of the ranch is simply breathtaking, with stunning hikes and picturesque landscapes that made every moment special. (We might have seen a bear or two plus a bald eagle while hiking!) The hosts, Pete and Angie, were remarkable. Their warm hospitality (too much to list in this review) made us feel right at home. Their dog, Lilly, was an absolute joy, adding an extra layer of charm to our stay. Feeding the horses—Champ, Rascal, Thelma, and Sunday—was a delightful experience that we looked forward to every day. We hiked their property daily, soaking in its beauty, and also made several visits to the nearby Gallatin National Forest, which offered incredible waterfalls and trails. I can’t say enough about how great this trip was. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with wonderful hosts and beautiful surroundings, Drinking Horse Ranch is the place to be!

Very easy to find the place and get inside. Loved sitting outside by the creek. So relaxing!! Seeing all the birds and hearing them was wonderful! It is exactly as described and very peaceful. We did find that the perfume scented air freshener was very strong with our sensitivity to those things. It is a very rustic feel, but there were a lot of cobwebs around the light fixtures and up in the loft. Also, the porch has a lot of cobwebs and could use swept and cleaned up a bit.

Perfect cozy cabin for a stay in Montana. For two people it was the perfect size and felt just like home. Cassandra was always responsive and there is a lot to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again!
