Platts' Place Retro Retreat

The guest suite is located on the first floor of a two-story subdivision home. The suite is separated from the rest of the home by a locked door (both sides are locked.) The private guest entrance is at the back of the home. People live here though, so plan on a little noise transfer from the street and home. Parking is on site. The space is pet free, but guests are welcome to visit our pets if they need to cuddle some fur babies.

Very roomy. Loved the screen porch in the evening. It was nice to have the children play out in the fenced in yard. I would definitely stay there again when we come to visit. The only concern was: the driveway was a challenge during certain hours of the day.

Dan’s stay was wonderful for our weekend trip! They allow dogs which was a huge plus when deciding what stay we wanted to pick. We didn’t have any issues during our stay. We did have technical problems with the lock on the front door that was no problem of the hosts. You have to make sure you don’t pull the door too far when closing it or the lock won’t register because it hits the lip of hole for the lock and it comes back unlocked. Additionally, like most older homes I have been in around the area, sound does carry through the home. If you are traveling with others and require more privacy as far as sound goes, it would be the only thing to note, but was not a big deal for us. It was only an issue for us when my dog would whine when we left (separation anxiety while traveling). Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this stay and Dan was a great host. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend, just as listed, and was in the perfect location for our plans and then some

We were traveling for work and needed a place to stay that had room for a few kiddos and also space to do some office work. We were not disappointed! The whole home was sparkling clean. We felt like welcomed guests. The huge bathtub was an excellent addition that I personally enjoyed after a super long drive. There were plenty of restaurants nearby. The outdoor space was perfect to let our kiddos burn off some extra energy. We were able to make dinner on the gorgeous gas stove. There was plenty of seating for everyone and plenty of places to sleep. We had a great time and recommend this home to any families traveling to this area of South Carolina.
