Barn accommodation in Derbyshire

6 families met together here for 6 days and we found The Grange to be a good size for us. There’s an enclosed garden big enough for 5 children and 2 dogs to play in. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking. There are plenty of places to visit with the children. All in all we had a lovely week.

We stayed here this week with my sister and family and there was ample room for us all, we LOVED having loads of bathrooms and a huge kitchen and the pigs, peacock and chickens outside the kitchen window were a constant source of entertainment for the kids (and our dog!). The setting is beautiful. It’s so peaceful with gorgeous views over the countryside. We will be back next year!

Loved our stay at Gibb Tor - beautifully converted bar and full of personality. Lyndsey was exceptionally communicative. I was poorly for some of my stay, Lyndsey was flexible and generous with our check out time, and it became a relaxing retreat to get better. Would definitely visit again.

Back from a 4 night stay at Callow Barn. An outstanding property, immaculate and very spacious with the most spectacular views across the valley. Very well equipped and comfortable. We loved the rural setting,watching the lambs play and pheasant visits. Even saw a deer. The host is very helpful and informative. My friends and I agree that this is our favourite property that we have stayed.The area is stunning,so much to see and do without traveling miles.

We had a lovely stay on Neil's farm. The house is comfortable and the scenery is stunning. Neil is very welcoming and knowledgable, he took the time to show us around the farm and answer all our questions about farming life. He was also very kind to our two year old daughter and she loved her time on the farm.

This cottage was perfect for us - 2 couples with small children. Louise gave us loads of information before we arrived, and her husband greeted us shortly after we arrived. It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy! There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!! The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner. I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

A quirky but comfortable Air BnB with two small double bedrooms with en suites which was exactly what we were after as two friends travelling together for the weekend. The description of the barn was very accurate and it had everything we needed and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Slightly tricky to find and, as others have said, up a very steep hill but we managed so I wouldn’t say that was a downside. Very centrally located in Wirksworth which was good as it meant we didn’t have to take the car back down the hill for groceries etc as it was all accessible on foot.

We loved our stay here! It was the perfect peaceful getaway spot for a couple looking for some respite from the city. Plenty of hikes nearby, pubs to choose from and beautiful surroundings. Linda was really responsive and helpful and the barn had everything we needed, really comfy and cosy! We’ll be back for sure.

Fantastic location where you can easily walk to Curbar edge. Good value and very comfortable with basics provided. Kathy even checked if we needed additional bedding. It was quite hot even with windows open but it was 27 degrees outside.

Beautiful little cottage which worked well for our family of 2 adults, 2 children and a dog. Great location across the road from a cafe and a few minutes walk from a pub. Lots of lovely walks to do from the cottage and easy to park. Cottage was very well equipped, fire was great and thank so much for the welcome pack for us and the dog! Lovely little terrace to watch the sun set from.

What a great find. Perfect location for peaceful walks with my Dalmatian Daisy. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard with plenty of room and felt secure and safe. Most important to me was that it was dog friendly and it really was. Daisy had her own secure area to play in and this is just so helpful. Hosts are friendly and the info provided to help you to find the place is excellent, also lots of info in the accommodation about the local area. Would definitely recommend and also would love to stay again for a longer break.

This is a beautiful little place surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The proximity to Curbar edge was a huge plus for us. Would definitely book here again and if visiting the area again. Valerie was responsive & nice.

If you're considering this, just book it! Great place, warm and clean with everything you could need. We felt very welcome, beautiful farm with animals and an orchard. Setting is great, 25 mins to Sheffield but 30 seconds to incredible countryside. If you want a relaxed place to explore the peaks, this ticks all the boxes. Already thinking about returning.

We had a lovely stay. We were out hiking most of the day but it was lovely coming back to a clean and bright space to chill in the evenings. The rooms were a great size too. We also took a 15min walk to the local pub for some nice food where the service was quick and friendly. Would definitely stay again as a quieter base for hiking in the Peak District.

We had a lovely stay here with our dog. Really peaceful and quiet spot. Beautiful area. Was amazing to see how a small space has been made into something as spacious and airy as this. It’s got everything you need and will definitely be staying here again. Thanks Fiona

I loved my stay at Pru's cottage. Both Pru and Chris were welcoming and helpful. I also loved Swallow Barn; it felt like home right away, especially with the delicious local produce already in house when I arrived. The local walks and villages were beautiful. I hope I can come back and have some more cheese from Hartington, walk along the Dove River, and sip G&Ts with Pru & Chris at sunset.

The location is superb. The attention to detail in all of the fixtures and fittings at Stoop Farm showed an exceptionally thoughtful host. Richard was very helpful suggesting a most enjoyable walk. Overall our two day break was outstanding.

Amazing value for money for what you get. Full amenities, spacious rooms throughout. Lovely outdoor area. Great host. Nice area for exploring the Peak District. Went with my toddler and had everything we needed. Overall highly recommend this stay and Carolyn as host!

Absolutely perfect stay. Such a perfect location surrounded by the beautiful hills and peaks, which you can literally walk from your door to reach. Brilliant comfortable and peaceful accommodation. Lovely bonus surprise welcome gift, Hilary and Mark were so helpful and friendly and there if needed. If you’ve got a dog the large private garden is again perfect, our spaniel Judy has never been so relaxed on a U.K. break. We’re really looking forward to a coming back!

A perfect family getaway from it all weekend at this idyllic little cottage. Norma gave such quick responses and clear instructions throughout and we absolutely loved Spinney Farm Cottage, its location is sublime. Everywhere was immaculate, and I’m pretty fussy, and we didn’t use the car once in all our stay as there are walks on your doorstep and an amazing little pub down in Bonsall. Thoroughly recommend

Sarah was an excellent host, the Airbnb was beautiful and cosy! We had homemade cookies and bread on arrival, the fridge was stocked with necessities, we were spoiled! The place was spotless and had lovely personalised touches. Additionally lots of information was provided on what we could do during our stay, we took lots of recommendations from Sarah and had an amazing holiday. Would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Second time staying at Sam’s place. Fantastic stay once again. Lovely location, great space with comfortable amenities…the hot tub is a huge bonus too!
