Try one of our comfy camping pods in N Yorkshire. The Small Pod is ideal for 2 people & in the grown ups only section of the site. Oh, and dog friendly too! Bring everything you would camping - apart from the tent! COVID-19 UPDATE: we are no longer hiring out airbeds (there are none in the pod), nor our we opening the kitchen facility or shop. However, the showers and loos are open, on a managed basis
“I was looking for a place to stay with my other half and our 4 dogs. It is rather challenging to find a nice place with all the dogs but was delighted when Kate said they were all more than welcome. The log cabins were amazing! We booked the small one but it was plenty big enough for a double air bed and all the dog beds. The location was fantastic with lots of lovely walks and places to visit. Whenever I go away I worry about the toilet and shower situation but they were spotless and lovely at this site. The shower was amazing and the water was hot hot hot!! The toilet block was also lovely and cosy with plenty of hand sanitizer and extra cleaning sprays with the current COVID situation. I would definitely stay here again.”
The Regent's Chambers is a marvellous and comfortable place to stay, with super king beds, Netflix & Amazon Video, board games, self check-in and breakfast ingredients (except for milk!). There's a garden for relaxing in during nice weather (it happens!) and a real home-from-home feeling. There's free parking just outside the flat and it's a five minute walk into town (explore the castle and new gallery spaces), ten min to the station and ten min to Kynren. Durham is just a half hour away.
“The Regent's Chambers was a lovely flat and had all the amenities we needed. Emma was a fantastic host with great communication and a very handy check in video! The flat is about a 5min walk from the main high street and there's two big supermarkets a few minutes further. The town was lovely though it was just a shame we couldn't get out and about much because of the storm. If you're eating in Bishop Auckland I definitely recommend Beedles Chippy and Panda Panda. We managed to make a quick stop (40mins away) in the North Pennines on our drive back home. If you only have a little bit of time, I highly recommend the High Force falls. It was absolutely stunning and feels like you've been transported to somewhere in North America! I wish we could have spent a lot longer there!”
Set in a conservation area of Bishop Auckland, this spacious and welcoming flat is in a great location for visits to Auckland Castle, exploring the Pennines and visits to Durham. Kynren is also a short walk away. After a great day out come back to the gorgeous, light-filled rooms, cosy fireplace, comfortable sofas, speedy internet, super king size beds and spa bath. Couples, individuals, business travellers and families with kids (any age) are all very welcome.
“As so many previous reviewers have said, this is a huge flat which manages to be super toasty. It's a short walk into the town centre which is well served with shops, cafes. takeaways etc as well as some new cultural attractions. We didn't have a bad meal in Bishop Auckland, and would give a special mention to the cafe at the castle: you have to have a ticket for the castle to enter, however the Auckland pass is valid from purchase until the end of 2020, and we'll most certainly be trying to arrange a return visit. Fifteas in the town centre was also a big hit with our children who really enjoyed their 'afternoon tea'. In the flat we loved the electronic lock and nest heating controls: we didn't use the cooking facilities much as there's too many great local eateries to try, but everything was clean and it was a great budget friendly place to stay.”
