“The perfect place! Gareon, a very hospitable hostess, keeps the house clean. We arrived very late and did not have time to meet and talk. But her notes on how and where to go, what to eat and where to get, were very nice. For breakfast, eggs, as we understand, the hostess holds chickens. Muesli milk toasts jam. For such money, this miracle is simple! Warm, comfortable, comfortable if you go to Tekapo. We arrived late at Christchurch and spent the night in this house with delight. Immensely grateful to the hostess.”
Homebush Cottage is part of the 120 yr. old former Homebush School, located on the Southern Scenic Route and close to popular Skifields, Lakes and amazing tourist destinations, thus making us the perfect stopover. The cottage is set on 3 acres including beautiful rambling gardens and tennis court. The accommodation is decorated in a comfortable cottage style suitable for a couple. We provide a self catering breakfast including free range eggs from Orpington hens so no need to worry about food !!
“Lovely gardens and a gorgeous wee cottage. It was a perfect wee spot to spend our first night as a married couple. We were able to have a early check in to drop our bags off and getting back late at night also wasn’t a problem. Thank you so much, will be back again x”

“What a wonderful wee place! It was everything we needed and wanted and more for a soul recharge. The gardens were spectacular at night and during the day, we even saw a meteor burn up in the sky that night! We had a restful sleep on the comfy bed and there was even a range of breakfast choices. Thank you so much for our stay!”
