Situated alongside the Mississippi River, wildlife abounds in every season. With eagles nesting nearby, there is always something new to see from the beautiful sunrises, cruise ships passing by, and watching the commerce of the barges and railroad right out the front window! This home has been recently refurbished and sits at the edge of our 15 acres. We have 2 dogs and welcome well-behaved pets. The Lumber Yard Cottage is a cozy hidden retreat tucked away from the road. Within walking distance of all Mineral Point has to offer. Great restaurants on all sides of this property and wonderful shops are just up the road. The Cheese Trail and railroad museum are across the street. This is the second time we have stayed at Brandon and Kassie’s place and it was pristinely clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. You feel right at home as soon as you walk in. I must say that this place was great! Much larger in person than the photos made it seem! This Air BnB MADE our trip! Spacious with gorgeous views! We loved all the porches to hang out on. The kiddos loved the concrete pad outside to ride their scooters on. When we went out and about the kiddos begged to come back lol. Super clean and cozy inside. We LOVED it.

We had a wonderful relaxing time. We live in the city and this was exactly the relaxing healing we needed. Quiet and secluded. The porch is a wonderful place to chill. Had nice camp fires outside in the evenings. We saw an abundance of beautiful unique colored songbirds. We learned that the Mississippi river valley and surrounding area is a major thoroughfare for bird migration. I’m not a bird watcher but it was still very nice to see and hear. We hiked around the hiking trail loop and it was totally worth it…..Beautiful. We also took the ferry over to Iowa and went to a winery over there. Fun experience! Also, the Potosi brewery and winery across the street were great stops; highly recommended. The Hub in the town center along with all the little shops are great places to visit. Very friendly. We bought a few things in those places. It’s also nice just sitting down on the Mississippi too. On the last day we went to Dubuque and Galena. Can’t go wrong with either of those places too.

Danielle’s place is secluded, surrounded by woods, and full of cozy charm—it was such a fun getaway! My family had a great time. The space was easy to navigate, with lots of thoughtful and fun extras throughout. I highly recommend staying here, and we’re already hoping to return soon!
