The Stairway to Heaven is half an hour away which is a very popular 3 hour walk/hike Local church beside shop/Pub and area is ideal for cycling also.. Our home is nestled on 18 acres of idyllic countryside, which not only boasts access to a private lake with runner boards you can fish from but its green fields roll down to the banks of the Shannon River Navigation. By DAY you can take a stroll, watch calves frolic, swans busy with their signets, darting dragonflies and watch as the cruisers sail past. By NIGHT you can sip a glass and watch the fabulous sunsets, have a BBQ or toast marshmallows over a pot bellied fire under a blanket of stars.

We are next door to Leebeen Park with its beautiful playground and lake and a short 2 minute drive to scenic lakes of Lough Gowna. Lovely spot for fishing lovers and kayaking.1 Minute walk/drive tothe local pubs/shops and a short 5 min drive to nearby villages Arva and Lough Gowna. 15 minute drive to Longford Town and a 20 minute to Cavan Town centre.

You can easily walk to the village shops and pub while still enjoying the calm of a rural escape. We aim to keep everything simple and comfortable so you can feel at ease - whether you’re passing through for a night or staying longer to explore the area. I am happy to recommend local walks, riverside stops, or cosy places to eat nearby.

Curragha house is located 2 miles from the town of drumshanbo with very pleasant surroundings, great views and walks. Also to note we have a golden retriever pup at ours home called Marley who is very friendly. 🐶
