Madrid’s History, Bites & Sips – An Intimate Tour Since 2018

Come with me on a intimate tour with a nice mix of history, architecture, fun anecdotes, a few jokes and really, really, tasty food (Not the mainstream, cliché, touristy food!). We'll start at the Plaza Mayor and then make our way through the old village, stopping at a local market to enjoy some entrees and drinks. Then continue our historical journey through the most ancient and interesting parts of the old town, to finally end before the majestic Royal Palace. After putting aside the history we’ll finish the tour at a really classic local restaurant where you'll get to taste different, mouth-watering food and local drinks. Of course, aside from the food goodies, we will get an opportunity to chill, know each other better and share some laughs. Come and see Madrid through my eyes, I want to make you feel as if you're walking through the city with a bunch of friends but one of them happens to know a lot about it and is more than willing to share the knowledge with you! A trip to medieval Spain in Toledo and Segovia

We really want to make an effort so that you can feel and experience the magical traditions and stories of Spain, which is why we will always be a group of a maximum of 6 people. We won't follow the typical tour; we will be like a group of friends having fun. We will begin our experience by traveling to our first stop, the mythical city of Toledo, a Roman Carpetani settlement dating back to 193 B.C. Our immersion in Toledo's culture will start with a walk through the viewpoints offering the best panoramic views of the city. we will stroll through its magical streets, marvel at its impressive architecture ,and ascend to the largest fortress in the city. There, we will take a break so you can enjoy a leisurely and unhurried meal, as we assure you that in our adventure, the idea is for you to fully enjoy. We will continue our journey to the second destination, which will be the city of Segovia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, we will explore the best-preserved Roman aqueduct in the world, climb to its highest point, and discover one of Spain's most important medieval fortresses, the majestic Alcázar. Before we embark on our return we will stroll through Calle Real , famous for its magnificent shops where you can buy a beautiful souvenir.

Tim Bikes highlights bike tour Madrid

Our tour is ideal for everyone who wants to get to know Madrid in a short time but in a relaxed way. Conducted in English. Private tours in English, Dutch, Spanish, French if available and Portuguese if available. In about 3 hours and 11 km biking, you will more or less see and hear everything of the old center while riding a very comfortable bicycle. The “must see” places as well as the hidden corners away from the typical touristic paths. We will ride mainly on cycling paths, pedestrian zones and parks. Of course there will be various stops to take pictures. When we stop, we will tell you about the stories behind what you see and tell our personal experiences of our time in Madrid. After the tour you have an idea which places you want to visit in your own time and in which restaurants and tapas bars you want to have your meal. Leathercraft Workshop in a Traditional Madrilean Neigbourhood

This experience is for those who wish to discover an authentic Spanish Leathercraft Workshop and learn how to make their own Leather items. I will show the participants the use of the tools used for Leathercraft, many of which havent changed since medievil times. I will also introduce them to the variety of different kinds of leather that exist. Each participant will have the opportunity to use real Spanish Cowhide to create a Leather item with their own hands. In the workshop the participants can choose between a pretty travelling purse (with or without a strap), an original belt, a wallet, two different purses or braided bracelets. There is also the opcion of making a piece different from these which will be designed in the act...maybe something one always wanted to make....a handbag, a mobile phone case, a belt pouch ....if this is the case the teacher should be informed beforehand. Each piece will be unique as we will use technique such as stamping or embossing to decorate it. These techniques were introduced by the Moors hundreds of years ago and have a long tradition in Spanish Leathercraft. There will not be many of us in the worshop so we have the chance to get to know eachother without hurry. For those who dont speak Spanish I speak perfect English as I am originally from Ireland. Other things to note We will be using cutter knifes at one stage of the experience although for those who prefer the Handcraftsman will do the cutting.
