Small rural stone house restored with private garden and parking, offers tranquillity and a stunning view to Serra da Freita and Frecha da Mizarela waterfall. Great starting point to reach the remote hills of Freita, where you can enjoy long hikes, river baths or simply visit the geological and archaeological sites of Arouca Geopark. Located in a small rural village in the hills, nearby you can find a grocery store and good restaurant with local gastronomy. Porto city is just 50 min away by car.

Grandma Maria's House at Quinta do Castro

Quinta do Castro is an ancient farm with 10 hectares where you can enjoy swimming pools, mini-golf, football field, slide, barbecue, tenis, horseriding ring in the midle of a wonderful natural scenery. The Grandma Mary's House has a vernacular kitchen with a wood oven, a large room with fireplace and another with tablesoccer, a bathroom (the water is warmed with wood) and a bedroom. The house offers yet a big balcony where you can glimpse nature while listenning the sound of birds and brook.

In the surrounding area, you can take nature hikes, tours along the Douro and Paiva rivers, visit the Paiva Walkways or discover the charms of the Magic Mountains. You will be welcomed by the host Vitó who, being local and knowing the area, will help you discover the region's charms.

Casa do Povo is part of a group of houses inserted in Quinta Barqueiros D'Ouro, located in Barqueiros, in the Douro Demarcated Region. Taking advantage of the privileged location and view, the guest is in permanent contact with the river and the vineyard. CORTIÇO: The apartment overlooking the Douro is named “Cortiço”. It is so called, in homage to honey, a secular food that was also produced on our property, exactly in this place. The family gathered to extract this nectar, laboriously produced by the bees, to serve not only as a delicacy, but also as a home remedy for everyday ailments.

Cabana Douro Paraíso is located on the bank of the Douro river between Porto and Régua. The magnificent landscape will surprise you every morning! The cottage is secluded by more privacy and surrounded by flowers! Possibility to park your car. We also propose breakfast, but it is not included in the nightly price.
