Family-friendly holiday rentals in Charles City County

We rented Scott's condo for an 80th birthday celebration for my mom. There were four of us ladies and we had the best stay! It was clean, spacious, well-appointed and the location is wonderful for shopping and sight seeing. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice place, but just note that this is a time share place and the rooms/furniture may not look exactly as they are in the photos on airbnb.

This is the second time we have stayed in this location and Scott was our host. Another fabulous visit and wonderful location. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Colonial Williamsburg area, a great home away from home.

We had a great stay! It was very close to Busch Gardens and all other Williamsburg attractions. The space was great for us and our 2 children. Great place to stay!

The space was set up exactly how described and was clean. We enjoyed a great stay. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, but that was not the fault of the host, rather the resort.

Beautiful place and community. Perfect place for us to rest and relax as a family after long days at Jamestown and Busch Gardens and the community offered back-up options in case the weather didn’t cooperate. The host was great! Will definitely stay again

The location and all amenities were as described! Simone was extremely proactive about reaching out and checking in throughout our stay. Place was clean. Was a great, walkable neighborhood for my dog and I, and the fenced in backyard was a bonus! It is chain-link and not particularly high, so just keep that in mind depending on your dog’s needs.

Captain Ron offered a perfect and idyllic houseboat for my short stay on the James River earlier this week. I needed a quick getaway and this perfectly fit the bill. As a newborn I had lived on a similar boat along the Potomac and had been meaning to get back to some roots, shall we say! The Gia Maria oozed with its own history and there are plenty of fun finds aboard (including a copy of the Captain's book about his life along the James). The Captain himself iis a great storyteller, and I was lucky enough to pick his brain about some of his adventures when he was at the marina working on one of his other boats. I look forward to returning one day to hear more about those adventures and have a few more of my own aboard the Gia Maria. Highly recommend for those looking for a cozy getaway and to enjoy a bit of the rich history that abounds along the James. Thanks, Capt!

We enjoyed our stay at Cadu's while we visited family and friends in Richmond. Clean, comfortable, cozy house -- great communication with host.

Charlene is a wonderful and very responsive host. This was our second time staying there when we visit Williamsburg. The location is great and only a few minutes from everything. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our week. We look forward to staying again in the future.

We had an excellent 2 weeks stay at the Moss Side cottage, it was exactly as described, quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. We loved watching the cows from the beautiful, large back porch and even got to see a calf born during our stay. The house is fully stocked with any and all things you could possibly need during your stay from kitchenware to cleaning supplies, the rooms are spacious, a large empty garage, and having 3 full bathrooms was great. We had a great stay! The house was clean ans quiet, and the kitchen had all of the essentials you would need (spices, condiments, etc.). The house is close to all of the major attractions/downtown Williamsburg! The deck and fenced-in backyard were perfect for our toddler and pup!

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs had great weekend stay at the Williamsburg campground. The cabin was just very clean and comfortable with all we needed for the weekend. The campground itself was wonderful with plenty of things to do, although we were there to explore Williamsburg and surrounding areas. overall a great stay and would definitely return again!!

As long as Lynne’s place is free, this is the only place we’ll book in Richmond when we need it! It is so charming, so well-stocked, so comfortable, and the front porch and back deck/garden were places I just wanted to sit all day! Lynne was so communicative and helpful! Can’t wait for our next stay!

Plenty of space for our family of 7. We were close to all the things we wanted to do in the area.

Brought my family of 7 (4 adults, 3 children) to VA for April break. We had plenty of space to spread out between the two units. The resort is located up the street from shopping centers for all you basic needs. Early spring meant the outdoor pool wasn't open, but my children (15, 12 & 11) enjoyed the other amenities offered such as pickleball, miniature golf and the activity center. The resort is going through some refurbishment, so there were places that had dumpsters and equipment out. We felt safe walking around the property at all times. The only draw back, which is no reflection on Christian, was one of our units had a sewage smell and a damp smell. We flushed out the water pipes to clear out the smell and the carpets need to be updated, again not the fault of the host. This space may be on the list to be refurbished. I provided my feedback to the resort. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this property to other families.

Tara’s Powhatan Resort listen is fantastic! Easy check-in, and check-out. Beautifully maintained grounds. Great fun for families, couples and singles of all ages. Comfortable suites, with a cozy home atmosphere. Minutes away from The Historic Colonial Williamsburg tourist attraction. Olde Towne Pizza delivered, and was Great! My family is still raving about it! We had a great stay!

My family and I stayed two nights to go to Busch Gardens and the location was great. Less than 20 minutes from the park. The room was just as described with tons of room. It was exactly what we were looking for. I would recommend for anyone especially families. There was lots for the kids to do on the grounds and we felt very safe there. Christian was a great host very responsive.

Location and description was as advertised. Lots to do, so much that we were there a week and didn’t do everything. Every attraction on our list was within 20 minutes. Beautiful area and very quiet.

I have zero complaints! Loved the 2 separate, but still together spaces for our large group. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and serene. We didn’t use any of the amenities since we were only there for a short stay, but my family and I hope to come back soon for a longer stay. Christian was a great host, and the accommodations were great as well!
