Holiday rentals with beach access in Central Otago District

We enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet peaceful area. It was a bit tricky to find the driveway because it is a little hidden. Other than that we enjoyed our time and do recommend a stay if it fits your itinerary.

We absolutely adored staying at Te Awa Lodge on our recent trip to Wanaka. It was a gorgeous riverside home with an amazing hot tub and sauna, which we loved using after our hikes. Graeme and Carolyn were such warm, welcoming hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The property is easily accessible to Wanaka (10-15 min) and Mount Aspiring (1 hour) . Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

We loved our stay at The Fig Tree House. Sarah's house is beautifully designed with all the comforts of home. Sarah's a very thoughtful host and we really enjoyed getting to know her when we bumped into her. The house was a great space for our children (4 and 7) who enjoyed the books and games in the house plus the novelty of a fire place. Sarah's house is close to the river which has great biking/walking trails, 100m to a small supermarket, bakery and shops and a short drive to Wanaka town. We couldn't recommend it more! This house is beautifully decorated and very well stocked. The backyard is very private and offers beautiful views of the mountains. It’s about a 15 minute walk to town. While there weren’t any screens on any of the windows or doors, we were not bitten by any bugs.

Large private lawn and garden, fully furnished.The host is nice and very welcoming, recommend everyone to stay.

Lots of space in the place. Quiet side of town. We had some lovely walks from the place. The scones Edgewater were amazing! Wanaka is a beautiful town.

Loved the view from the sliding glass door of the trees -- especially beautiful with fall colors. Enjoyed their friendly dog and cat greeting us each time we came in! Was wonderfully quiet! Continental breakfast was better than most. As described, no kitchen, but lots of silverware, plates, etc. to use. Comfortable beds. Helpful and friendly host. Refrigerator was extra small as was the bathroom sink (was so small it was hard to brush my teeth!).

The private, self-contained space was perfect for our stay. Liisa was incredibly responsive and answered all our questions with warmth and clarity. She's even thoughtfully prepared recommendations for Queenstown and Arrowtown restaurants! A delightful bonus was Lily, the adorable cat, who occasionally stopped by to say hello! The place truly has everything you need for a comfortable trip—clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully organized. Highly recommended for travelers seeking a cozy experience!
