Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Castro Daire

Over the years we had quiet a few holiday homes but this one is so special and was definitely one of the best we ever had! It starts with the private driveway to the house which makes you feel like queens and kings of ancient portugal. On the one hand the property is extremely quiet because there is nothing nearby except nature and a very small steeet, on the other hand you can walk in 20 minutes to Reriz, the village nearby that is very beautiful and has a wonderful little café and a very special riverbeach, where you can swim, hang out and have a beer. The house itselfe is really beautiful, very comfortable beds, and a kitchen with a astonishing panoramic view. Right next to the house is the wonderful saltwater pool with a terace that also offers a great panorama. And you can swim in the river on the property. PLUS Sherrin and Tony are the most friendly hosts you can imagine, especially friendly and understanding with our noisy kids - this makes you feel really at home as a family.

Maria is super concerned about its guests, always answers our questions We were received by Joseph a sympathy of Lord and very understandable with our late arrival Speaking of the house exceeded all my expectations, very welcoming home, but most important to me was the spectacular garden that my Patudos always loved and played safely ❤️ In our exit from the house was the Wife of Joseph who went to get the keys and I loved to know ,very friendly I hope I left everything as I found it Many thanks for everything and see you soon For it will be a home to visit more calmly Cheers to all

Casa da Urgueira is a super special place to stay. It’s charming, makes you feel like living in an authentic Portuguese country side home. The house is decorated with cute pieces with high attention to details. Fábio is very quick to answer any doubts you might have and gets out of his way to make things possible. He gave me loads of options to do in and around the town.I can’t recommend this place enough.

We had the best stay at Márcias apartment. My best airbnb experience so far (and I had a lot). She was proactive and recommending us a lot of activities over there. The house was beautiful, relaxing in between the magic mountains was a wonderful experience. I can totally recommend for any person or group that wants to get into nature.

Although the ad deserved more photos of the interior of the house, the fact is that the house fully met expectations. It is very comfortable and the fireplace with firewood at the discretion provided a very cozy environment in the living/kitchen and very welcome heating throughout the house. The village of Moura Morta is very picturesque and a great base to explore the Serra de Montemuro, which was our goal. Eduardo was extremely helpful to welcome us and was available throughout our stay. Would not hesitate to stay in this house again.

Five stars aren’t enough! We loved the little house. It’s charming and unique and offers all means of comfort you could wish for. We would come back there anytime! The host himself and his parents next door are the sweetest and most caring people. Even when we had questions and problems, they all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We got support within minutes. I cannot express more how much we recommend this accomodation and how nice Bruno is. Thank you so much, this stay will be remembered 😃

For those traveling as a family or with friends, it is simply fantastic!

We had never been to this area so we’re glad we rented a car in order to take a few side trips to some wineries. The place is modern, spacious and very clean. We especially liked the balcony overlooking the River. It would be helpful for more complete instructions in the “welcome book” for how to work appliances. We only used the washer/dryer but there are some great items to use in the kitchen. Beautiful apartment!

Quite a hike up the hill if you don’t have a car, just bear that in mind. Also if you’re going into town to eat, the same applies. However the upside of course is that the views are outstanding. Quiet and tranquil, we were extremely happy with our stay. Great hiking on the doorstep, lots of wine tasting if that’s your thing. One very nice touch was the traditional custard tarts and lovely bread/rolls left outside our door each morning by our host. Very nice touch indeed

This is a lovely apartment with parking and elevator. The view from the balcony is stunning! Maria was very sweet and helpful. We had difficulty finding the location and Maria and I did not speak the same language so she had someone call me back that spoke English to help me find the location and answer any questions. Great location, great apartment. highly recommend :)

Fernando was a welcoming host, and even shared a 50 year old Porto with us. The house is a true gem, filled with antiques, and everything modern that subtly goes along with that. It was comfortable, the beds had the best linens, it was clean, and bright. The view and surroundings of the duoro Valley and the towns could not have been better. I wish to return if we ever come back to this beautiful area.

Anna is a nice exemplary host, wants to help really amazing. The apartment is excellent and recommended, it has everything really feels like a home away from home. The accommodation is perfect, very large, very clean, beautiful. The whole neighborhood is beautiful. The host is a very good guest. It's like my very elegant luxury dream house. I recommend it to everyone, it is the best quality to travel or live for sure that if we come back to this accommodation, the best of my life than in love with the accommodation ❤️

This is a large and beautiful apartment! It was super clean, and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook my own meals for the two nights I was there. Manuel expressed his wishes for me to be comfortable, and I was! He provided an excellent, savory pastry that I enjoyed for my two lunches while out exploring the Douru Valley. This accommodation is highly recommended!

We were in Easter a group of friends. It was at all times pending and available for what we needed, the house is very nice and cozy; the spectacular estate, a pity the rain for not being able to use the pool, with hosts that way it is nice to travel, 100% recommended. Our group had a very enjoyable stay. Diogo was a great host and provided us with flexible check-in. Amazing views of the Duoro River. There is also a great local restaurant Tasquinha do Tio Miguel a 5 minute drive away!

Extremely calm site, with total privacy and all the comfort necessary for a quiet and relaxing weekend. The house is equipped with all the amenities and the terrace, with jacuzzi at the ideal temperature, provides a breathtaking view. The owner was always very accessible and attentive, giving helpful suggestions on places to visit and where to eat nearby. Access is easy and there is a supermarket nearby that offers home delivery service, which has made the stay even more practical and comfortable. An experience we recommend!

Jeff's place is something you rarely find on Airbnb, it is a really beautiful property located in a protected, surrounded by nature and a river, silent valley. It is fully furnished, equipped with everything you may need or expect, perfectly cleaned, and very spacious. The kitchens (both in the main house and in the pool house) are basically professionals ones, with bbqs, smokers, all existing (high quality) kitchen utensils. Absolutely everything. The warm pool is stunning too and we used it in November! Before leaving after our 4 days we were looking at each other eyes, still surprised by the beauty and quality of the place. What an amazing place this is and we were made to feel very welcome by the hosts. The breath-taking views, beautiful garden, conveniences of BBQ and swimming pool and close to convenience shops by car. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. Thanks for hosting us !

Both Eduardo and Vania were very attentive from the start. The house corresponds to what is described in the photographs. Stays are spacious. The rooms are perfectly equipped and the outdoor spaces are cared for. It is undoubtedly a very good option if you want to spend a few days relaxing as a family or if you want to take advantage of as a starting point to know other areas of northern Portugal. I would definitely come back.

Sophie was great, extremely responsive. The house was clean and tidy. The location was beautiful and quiet. We specially loved the little touch of having fresh bread everyday at the door.
