'U Fùnnacu 1887

'U Fùnnacu 1887 is a three-room apartment on the first floor of an old country house dating back to 1820. It was once a fondaco, in Sicilian "fùnnacu", from the Arabic funduq (accommodation, shelter for carters), in turn deriving from the Greek pàndokos: a place that welcomes everyone. In fact, this was the function of the fùnnacu: to welcome travelers, men, animals, carts with their loads, who found refreshment and shelter there. Today it is a large oasis of serenity where you can rest after a wonderful day at the beach.

We were very enthusiastic about the accommodation and the beautiful view you had. If you are looking for a place to relax, I can only recommend the accommodation, as it is quietly located and yet easily accessible by car. It is about 20 minutes' walk to the sea, where you can't swim because of the stones, but you can watch a beautiful sunset. Right at check-in you could feel at home, as the apartment was very clean and included everything necessary for living. The communication was also more than perfect, the check-in and check-out worked great. She was always available for questions and responded very quickly.

Marcello an Makda are very friendly persons and give good recommendations. Everything was clean and we enjoyed the good breakfast on the terrace with the nice view. From the terrace you have the best sunsets ever. At night it is very quiet. You don't have a kitchen but a refrigerator. The bed is very comfortable and you have a fan. The beach is only 2 min away by car and you can do nice hikings nearby. We would stay here again.

Giuseppe and his mother are amazing people. Very kind and nice, we spent 2 nights in Castelluzzo and really felt at home. Giuseppe gave us useful reccomendations, including what to visit near town. The place is really cozy, with a great garden on the third floor where you can enjoy the view. Olive trees, mountains and the sea. The whole place is really nice and beautifully decorated. It is close enough to San Vito lo Capo, the amazing Riserva lo Zingaro, Scopello and other attractions. Also the breakfast is perfect. With no doubts, stay with Giuseppe!! Grazie mille per tutti.

Our stay at Serena's in Cornino was a highlight of our trip to Sicily. The location on the edge of the nature reserve is beautiful, the house lovingly designed, functionally furnished, everything clean, super breakfast, communication with the hostess perfect! And the best part: Serena is a cheerful, extremely courteous hostess who lovingly looks after "her" place! Many thanks to Serena and her "team"!!!!

Francesca’s accomodation gave us a great base to explore this side of Sicily. Check in was easy, everything was amazingly communicated and breakfast in the morning was the highlight, felt very special and at home. I would stay here again. We wish our Italian was better so we could truly express our gratitude to the hosts, they were both so so kind, helpful and hospitable.

Everything was perfect!! Relaxing place, out of sight, really great. Ideal for the beautiful beaches nearby, San Vito 10 minutes away, Erice 35 minutes away. The post office next door, a well-stocked grocery store 100 meters away. We were received by Marco's parents, charming people, very available while being very discreet. Great welcome, if we come back to the area, it will be at Marco's place🤗. Happy hosting and thank you again for the figs😊.

This place is just fantastic; stylish accomodation, beautiful garden and view at Monte Cofano and delicious breakfast. Claudio and Emanuele are very friendly, welcoming and have good tips for sightseeing.
