“Well what can i say? From the very moment we arrived i was astounded by how wonderful Sue and Rob's restored Townhouse is. It looks great in the photos but simply stunning in reality. Sue and Rob are truly lovely people who made us feel very very welcome and instantly at home. They have carefully and lovingly restored this large house to its former glory with the addition of fantastic modern fittings. Beautiful bare granite walls and wood floors and luxurious bathroom, fantastic original ceilings and doors and shutters - if you love period properties this will be a dream come true as certain rooms are very grand! Sue spent a lot of time showing us around from room to beautiful room (the loft room is a dream for children!) and the property is much more spacious that you would think, set over 3 floors, we had ample room for the 3 of us and occasionally lost each other! The kitchen was wonderfully equipped with everything you need to make full blown meals if you want to and Sue and Rob had kindly left us a welcome pack in the fridge which was a really nice thing to do. Again in the bathroom there were supplies of shampoo and shower gel etc in case you had forgotten yours, also lovely big fluffy towels. Full of character, the garden area and pool is just simply amazing - where do i start! The pool is huge and clean and a delight to swim in - the view from the terrace is just mind blowing and is a full panorama that extends for miles! Lovely fruit trees in the gardens - Sue very kindly gave me some lemons to take home as i adore them! 4 good quality sun loungers and a table and chairs to dine at. We felt so relaxed here it was heaven. Sue and Rob were always on hand if needed with tips and advice on the local area. Cabanas De Viriato is a lovely traditional Portuguese town, we had a few good walks around and said "Bom dia" to the locals who were very friendly. Some of the older streets are cobbled and very picturesque and there are a few shops and 2 restaurants as well as a post office and pharmacy, so you can get everything you need in the village. Carregal do Sal is only a few miles away and has loads of big supermarkets and restaurants and is also very pretty in the old parts. It was here in Pingo Doce Supermarket we acquired some fantastic fish and huge king prawns the size of your hand and so cheap! they were absolutely delicious! The internet is fast and reliable! We didn't turn the TV on once but it is there if you need it! We had already been travelling around a little while when we arrived at Sue and Robs place and it really was great to relax and chill out. We loved the pool and also Sue's lovely dog Jasper and the lovely cat Barmy! We had been eating out every night of our travels but because we were so chilled out and only had 3 nights/2.5 days at Sues Place, we didn't actually make it to Piano, the main restaurant in the village - we have already decided to return next summer though and will definitely spend more time here! We also look forward to Kayaking for the day nearby. Sue and Rob we cannot thank you enough for providing such an amazing airbnb, we have now stayed in quite a few direct rentals over the years and yours is by far the best in every way! We cannot wait to return next summer and for longer! Heather, Isla and John xx”
The Casa das Morgadas is an emblematic 18th century building, restored in 2016. The manor house remains faithful to the original architecture, characteristic of the Beira area where it is inserted, while still offering you quietness and comfort in a sophisticated and cozy place. It is located in the center of the village of Nelas, next to the train station (50 meters); is 20 min. of the city of Viseu and 50 min. of Serra da Estrela.
“Casa Das Morgades is an excellent boutique hotel. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and made my stay even more enjoyable. Within walking distance of the station, cafes and shops this recently refurbished historical building has clean large rooms with crisp white linen and all the amenities of a big city hotel. It is outstanding value for money. There is a fully equipped kitchen available for use. Top tip - the breakfast is excellent and well worth the price. I will be returning.”
Home, is where our storie begin. Located at the foothills of Serra da Estrela mountains, the house offers a calm and relaxing ambience inviting guests to nature's contemplation.Equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, you can enjoy the pool in summer, barbacue, bikes and children's playground. In winter, you can enjoy the sound of the fireplace and the snow on the mountain. On request, adult and child bikes can be dispensed.
“Casa da Corga is very pleasant and cozy, starting with the welcome of the cat that seems to want to welcome you. The rustic aspect of the access contrasts with the modern decoration and equipment, as well as the impeccable cleanliness of the house. As we were there at the height of winter, there was plenty of cold, to the point of minimally surpassing the pleasant (even with the heating of the house), but nothing that the wine, cheese and ham (kindly offered by the hosts) does not attenuate. While the lower bedroom offers complete privacy, the upper bedroom gives us plenty of space. To summarize and conclude: we highly recommend the house, especially for those who seek the chill of the charming Serra da Estrela. Gabriel, Regina, Gabriela and Thiago”
