Everything was great & we got great recommendations for the area. Upon arrival, we met at a nearby cafe and were escorted to the accommodation. We were very warmly welcomed on site and received the first information. After half of the stay, we even got fresh towels. Unfortunately, two things are not apparent from the description: the view of the lake is obscured by trees & you have direct neighbours. But that didn't bother us & we would come again and again!

A very beautiful house with vast, stunning grounds. My family and I spent a lot of time exploring, lying by the pool, and sitting in the courtyard. The house itself is quite special. We didn’t spend much time inside as the weather was so beautiful, but we were very happy with our bedrooms and the kitchen. We had a few small issues: there are no mosquito nets in the pool house, so our guests that stayed there were bitten; the kitchen sink blocks easily and had to be unblocked daily; the nights were very warm and we had to buy our own fans. Overall we were very happy, and Domingos and Antonio were very helpful.

We had a great time at Virginie's place. Ideal location for exploring northern Portugal. Very well located house, surrounded by nature while being close to all the necessary amenities. Virginie was very kind and very available as soon as we arrived.

I loved this Airbnb. It honestly felt more like a home than most Airbnb’s and this is quite a compliment. I have stayed in so many of these that I have learned the difference. It was well appointed so you could easily have meals at home. There is a barbecue and numerous charming outside seating areas. The property is beautifully landscaped and private. Ligia had an app that answered every possible question we had about her place and the area from where to have dinner to what sites should we visit. It had grocery stores, hikes nearby, places to visit. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. The property is quiet, the beds comfy and towels soft. It’s very well located for visits to Guimares and Peneda Gerês. The territorial views from the property were beautiful. Icing on the cake for us our the two dogs that visit.. They were the sweetest and enhanced our visit. One of the top places I have ever stayed.

I would definitely give Pedro's accommodation 5 stars. The accommodation is beautiful, it inspires great quality, the decoration is very classy, nothing is missing in the equipment. This accommodation is very functional, you feel very good there👍 In addition, it is very well located, only 10 minutes from the city centre. I highly recommend it and thank Pedro again.

I hesitate writing this review because I want this place to stay a secret… but it’s too good not to share. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The space is spotless, stylish, and incredibly cozy—like a boutique hotel and a warm hug had a baby. The bed was so comfortable we missed our alarm (zero regrets). The kitchen was impressively stocked—better than mine at home—and every little detail felt intentional and thoughtful. The host was the perfect balance of helpful and hands-off, responding quickly when needed but letting us enjoy the space fully. The location? Peaceful, private, yet close to everything we wanted to do. It’s the kind of place that makes you rethink your life choices and wonder if you could just live here forever. Please don’t book it—I’m already planning my return and want it available. But seriously… if you’re lucky enough to snag a night here, take it. Just leave my dates open.

Casa Douro is a real gem of a place. It is actually really close to some good roads and lots of amenities and places of interest but as soon as you pass through the gates of the estate you are in little Oasis surrounded by trees and nature. Our granddaughter was enthralled by the deer as well as the resident cat. The pool area is lovely with shady as well as sunny spots while the accommodation is in the original farm buildings with thick walls and small windows which keeps it super cool on a hot day. There is air-con but it was hardly needed. The bathrooms were modern and pristine. Outside you are in what would have been a working courtyard but is now a lovely space to sit or play table tennis. Everywhere there is a nod to the past Communication was excellent and our queries were responded to really quickly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
