“We had another wonderful stay at the Avacado Cottage! We started our trip to Nepal here and stayed again the last week before leaving. Shivaram and Kabita are amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. They had us over for a traditional Nepali meal and started a fire for us one night to sit around. The cottage is clean and has a beautiful view. There are gardens and lots of big trees. It’s up the hill out of the city a little ways so you can relax and sleep peacefully. There are busses and taxis right down the street and a grocery store if you’re in to cooking. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessities and the shower water is nice and hot! We highly recommend staying here!”

“Nima and Sharada have a great house to share. Our family (including kids 8, 11, 13) enjoyed living in a non-tourist neighbourhood with a wonderful Nepalese family. We loved getting to know the grandparents, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces and it was fun to spend time with other guests. The location is close to interesting Kathmandu sites (such as the Kopan Monastery and Boudhanath Stupa) and close to great day trip hiking. We easily found everything we needed from the commercial area just steps from the house. Many of their guests are repeat customers. We will be too.”

“Kind of a perfect place - a perfect balance of everything you'd want or need, at least for me! The multi-room Airbnb's are on the top floor of a hotel. But it's a very quiet, private hotel, designed in a way that offers all the privacy one could want. You don't even feel the rooms so much as the beautiful garden that it's built around. Plus, the management and staff is so excellent that it has a much more homey feeling, with personal touches and care, but then there's always someone at the desk, so you get the best of everything. A warm and friendly, but quiet and private, atmosphere pervades the place. I've never stayed in a place that so deeply integrated Buddhist values. Someone's always there for you, but never in an invasive way. So in terms of local information, one is set up perfectly. In terms of the room itself, it was clean, spacious, comfortable, enjoyable to spend time in. As my purpose was primarily spiritual, I spent my entire time, either in my room, or going around the stupa. There was nothing else I needed or wanted. Usually one doesn't want to spend so much time in a hotel room, but the feeling was like my own space, I was completely content and able to do my practices in an uncompromised way. OH - I almost forgot to mention Sudeep's mother's breakfasts. They don't come with the room, it's extra, and completely worth it. Her food is spectacular, creative, nutritious, well designed and laid out, better than any single restaurant and I had good meals while I was there. Her cooking is extraordinary. Her son's management is extraordinary. I hope to return there many times.”
