n the heart of the Loire Valley, along the Thouet River: a 700 square foot converted barn (newly renovated) with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The house is ideally-situated in the heart of the Anjou wine region, a few miles from Saumur (well-known for it's castle and the French National Horse-Riding School, ''Le Cadre Noir'', wine growers, and troglodytes sites). Also nearby: important castles in Angers, Chinon, Montreuil-Bellay, Brézé, as well as Europe's largest monastic center, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, which features an excellent music and cultural program. Other worthwhile day trips include the exquisite Loire Valley castles, such as: Chambord, Blois, Cheverny, Azay le Rideau, etc. The house, which is about 187 miles from Paris (300 km), or about 2 hours by TGV, can accomodate two couples with children (sleeps six altogether). The appartement includes : an entrance hall, a large sitting and dining room with a small equiped kitchen, one bedroom, a bathroom, and a small bedroom on a mezzanine level.

The tower is completely self-contained and its pretty, covered balcony offers breathtaking views over the château's truffle orchard. You will stay in the 14th part of the former home of the Abbesses' Seneschal of Justice. This independent apartment, completely restored by an architect, combines the charm of a historic building with contemporary comfort. From your private terrace, you can watch the sunsets over the abbey. You are located 20 m from the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud and its museum, as well as all the shops and restaurants in the village. The banks of the Loire are a 5-minute drive away.

Ideally located in a quiet historic district of Saumur, a ten-minute walk to the city center, your accommodation is furnished with great care, in an outbuilding of our house, in the heart of a charming garden enclosed by walls. The cottage is arranged as a studio, with a large living room, kitchen area and separate bathroom. The toilet is in the bathroom. Everything is on one level and overlooks the garden. Free public parking in front of the property.
