There is access to public transportation (bus) within walking distance (less than a mile). The walk is doable but not incredibly pedestrian friendly. The cottage is walking distance from leafy Zilker Park and all the action in downtown Austin. South Lamar's bars, restaurants, and Alamo Draft House are within a few blocks, and Barton Springs is nearby for a refreshing dip whatever the season.
