“Our stay at Jennifer and Nick’s place was perfect. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with a great range of welcoming breakfast foods and condiments. Tall Gums guesthouse is well located in the village of Barrington but nicely tucked away from the road to afford absolute peace and quiet. Nick and Jennifer are very friendly and helpful and Reggie the dog is a charmer.”
Surrounded by a vibrant canopy of greenery, our recently renovated, treehouse-inspired, hardwood log cabins are rustic on the outside, yet mindfully designed with contemporary interiors. The charm of old-world wilderness meets understated comfort, with a focus on sustainable inclusions and modern luxuries. A place for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation; a haven of open spaces and fresh air; trees and tranquillity. We invite you to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself.
“Carawirry has to be one of the most amazing Airbnb's i've stayed in. Set in a very quiet and private location with endless forests and waterways to explore it was a perfect opportunity to switch off and forget the real world for a while. Little touches like hand drawn maps with advice on what walks to take totally made the trip worthwhile and anyone who is second guessing booking at Carawirry stop thinking about it and lock it in while you can. Hearing the creek run in the background with an abundance of wildlife when you wake up of a morning and lighting a fire in your room is a real treat. Thanks so much for having us, wish we had been able to stay longer!”
The property is on 3 1/2 acres on the outskirts of Gloucester within five minutes drive to the town centre. There are expansive vistas of mountain ranges which include the famous Bucketts and Mograni ranges on either side of the Avon Valley where the house is situated. There is an extensive range of activities available in the area. Alternatively, the place is so peaceful and the views so beautiful that unwinding quietly with a book can be an attractive option.
“We, including our fur babies enjoyed our stay at Farthings. Penny and Chris are kind and wonderful hosts and so very interesting to talk to. We had the pleasure of spending NYE with them and they were great company. It was very hot and dry during our stay but the house is well designed for the climate and we managed to have very restful nights with the help of the ceiling fans. We travelled to a beautiful beach, Black Head to get a cooler breeze during the heatwave which was around an hour's drive away through stunning country side. We dined at a local Thai restaurant one night and there is a BBQ available to cook on if needed plus a microwave and sandwich toaster. I would recommend spending time at Farthings for a very pleasant country escape.”
