Located in the heart of the Bourbon Trail. Come and enjoy the peace and quiet of country living, but still close enough to cities. Breakfast is provided every morning. When you first arrive you will find the entrance on a large covered patio. There is a gas grill there for your use. Feel free to take a walk down to the river at the bottom of our property. There you will find a park like setting where you can relax and listen to nature if you like.
“This was hands down one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, with views of rolling pastures and woodlands from every window. Horses graze outside, chickens scratch the dirt around the property, and sheep bleat softly from the adjacent property.* A creek at the back of the property offers a shady place to have lunch and relax. The house itself is a delight, with every conceivable amenity. It is clear that Jackie has thought about every little thing you may need. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. The bathroom had band-aids, cotton swabs, soap and more. We went four days without needing to purchase a single extra thing for our stay! As lovely as the interior was, the exterior was equally enjoyable. The porch was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed almost every evening sipping drinks and rocking on the porch swing while talking or playing games. The little yard was wonderful too, as it allowed our dog a chance to relax outside without a leash. Lastly, our hosts were wonderful. They were very attentive, quick to respond, gave us lots of privacy, but were happy to talk with us and answer any questions or just shoot the breeze. And although the area is rather remote, there are plenty of lovely little towns within 30-45 minutes where you can grab a bite to eat, walk down a quaint main street, or just enjoy small town America. Five stars, two thumbs up, and one Tony Award! *Despite having numerous animals and a barn behind you, there was no 'animal smell'. It is clear the barn is in great condition, and the animals are well cared for!”
Enjoy the highlights, festivities and historical features of Bardstown, home of the Most Beautiful Small town in America and the Bourbon Capital of the World. Come and stay in your own cottage on the property of an historical home dating back to the 1820's. Located in the heart of downtown, walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, markets and seasonal events. Don't hesitate to visit some local distilleries to experience some truly amazing Bourbon.
“Gia and Vinnie have a lovely carriage house with ample room. Perfect for a staging ground to explore Bardstown, the bourbon trail, or even a stay in weekend getaway.”
The bourbon Loft is close to restaurants and dining, nightlife, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love the loft because of the coziness, the high ceilings, the views, and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
“We had a wonderful stay for 5 days. It is the perfect location-- in fact, I believe they should update their picture to show the super cool burger joint that's now downstairs! The entrance to the loft is right next to it in the FRONT (I only add this because we stayed at another last year and the entrance was in the back-- so we looked in the back for a little while as a way to get in) The area is beautiful- for a VERY busy street-- it was pretty quiet during our stay. I think it helps that the bedroom is towards the back of the loft. The house was located up a tall set of stairs that was no issue for us. Ample supplies were available in the kitchen-- really appreciated the paper plates! Very close walk to many amazing restaurants (Mammy's, Café Primo, Bardstown Burger, Pat's Place, The Old Talbott Tavern, Alexander Bullitt's) and quick drive to A LOT of distilleries nearby. Even a quick 5 minute walk and you're at the Old Bardstown/Civil War Museum. Parking was ample. *Sometimes* you could smell the onions being grilled from downstairs in the bathroom- which was not overwhelming. We just noted it and laughed about it occasionally. The toilet is pretty close to the wall so if you're a tall person- this may be difficult. I'm 5'8" and it was close but OK. If you're not high maintenance- you can just turn a little. For the price, we'd stay here a million times. Great location, well stocked, beautiful area.”
