Barcelos is a small town on the right bank of Cavado. It is a pleasant city 30 minutes from Porto, 12 kilometers from the most beautiful beaches (Esposende-Apúlia), bordering: to the south, Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima, to the east, Esposende, northwest, Vila Nova de Famalicão, in the southwest, Póvoa de Varzim, to the west, Vila Verde and Braga.
