Family-friendly holiday rentals in Bandera County

The ranch house was perfect for our family gathering. We all had plenty of room for private moments and plenty of shared space for gathering, gaming, cooking and meal-sharing. The Grandkids loved the pool, pool table and especially the chickens! Our family highly recommends Rockin B Ranch.

The love shack was perfect for a weekend away! We grilled, enjoyed the hot tub, relaxed by the fire ring and on the back porch with gorgeous views. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, from fire wood for the fire ring to k cups for the coffee pot, and lots of clean towels. We came down for a motorcycle rally, and scenic rides, but this was such a perfect little cabin, that we will absolutely be back. The host was thorough with the instructions, and super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We were secluded but not too far from grocery stores or restaurants, they were just a little drive away. The bed was SO comfortable too, we both slept great! We had a wonderful time here at the love shack, and can’t wait to come back.

This is a great place to stay. We visited with our dog for the weekend and it was a great space to relax. The view from the bluff over the valley was really nice. Our dog really enjoyed the space and surrounding ranch.

The inside was beautiful and made you feel like at home. It was very quiet and the town is beautiful. The only thing that really needs attention is the outside of the home. It has too many dead plants and the corners of the home was surrounded by wasp and you couldn’t sit outside comfortably. The area of the hot tub had too many dead plants and others were so near the entrance that we found three scorpions on top of the cover of the hot tub/ I understand nature but fumigation and a little cleaning over the plants and keeping them trimmed and treated I don’t think there is a necessity for those creatures so near a home. I really hope they can fix up a little outside and be able to visit again.

Very cool place to stay. Close to the twisted sisters trail for motorcyclists. Would stay again.

Lori’s Cottage provided me a great relaxing getaway.! There was wonderful hiking with the dogs and the fenced in the backyard was wonderful for enjoying the outdoors. All of the amenities were provided and thoughtful! Would definitely visit again!

We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. The Cabin is super cute and secluded in beautiful Texas Hill Country. Everything you need has been thoughtfully provided. There is a full size kitchen and plenty of space to relax on the couch or beds all in one open space. Kathleen left lovely notes for places to go and thing's to do. I thoroughly enjoyed the property and the beautiful landscape. We spent our weekend hiking, exploring and driving the Twisted Sister's back roads soaking up the country views. My favorite part of our stay was watching the hummingbirds and wildlife off the back porch. Very peaceful and serene. We brought our dog with us as well, so pet friendly! Utopia is a cute place and super tiny! Be sure if you're staying a while to stock up a cooler and plan to cook! Everything you need is in the kitchen. I definitely recommend and give 5 stars and will be planning to go again!

June 30, 2024 We loved our time at Backroads reservation house. That VIEW!!! The views are incredible, the location is close enough to the village, but quiet and relaxing. The house has all you need to cook and enjoy the amazing outdoors. An incredible time was had!!

Peaceful and beautiful property. Perfect place to unwind.

This home is a true wonder. We had random plans to visit a small town in Texas for a music event. Being the midcentury freaks we are, I cannot impress upon anyone the awesomeness of this home. Every detail, every item and stick of furniture reads like one stepped into some atomic-cowboy wonderland. The home is beautiful from every angle; a wonderful, usable layout and simply a marvel of comfort and aesthetic. No picture could capture the thing. We both felt tremendous gratitude, this is the owner's childhood home, built in the 40's by his father and grandfather. I could never shake the feeling: if this were mine, no way I'd share it with strangers... dang are we glad Max does. Would not hesistate to visit again if the wind blows us that way. Remarkable, a true one-of-a-kind.

At Casa del Rio, a home on the stream, The Medina River shimmered like a dream. A few stairs to the river — so do bring good shoes, But that’s the hardest part, so you’ve nothing to lose. Four bedrooms inside, with beds soft and clean— Though twelve is a stretch (if you know what I mean). Ten adults fit fine without bumping a head, But two more? Book the casita instead. That casita next door? A peaceful escape— Private, comfy, the perfect shape For a couple to rest in quiet delight— I grabbed it on check-in, and it felt just right. Shady decks and wide meadow views, Made for good sittin’ and catchin' a snooze. We fished out back like some hill country sages, Catching fish that were clearly… not record-breaking ages. We caught so many fish it felt absurd— Even the worms flipped us the bird. We grilled up a feast as the sun sank low, Then lit the chiminea for an ember-lit show. With cool drinks in hand and steaks on the flame, This riverside getaway earned its good name.

Jill and Brett are the sweetest hosts. We learned a lot about the ranch and enjoyed our stay. Brett also makes a really delicious breakfast. Overall we enjoyed our stay :)

This is the second time my family and I stayed at this property. Truly amazing! From swimming to fishing and hiking. This property does not disappoint! Peaceful at night, fishing was amazing, kids caught lots of bass, bluegils etc. House is large where we did not feel on top of one another. Highly recommend this property!

The Old Utopia B&B was excellent for my purpose, which was to have a nice place to view the 8 April, 2024 total solar eclipse. (Unfortunately, at eclipse time, the weather in that part of Texas was not ideal; unusual for an area famous for clear skies.) The house was ideal, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms; giving me and my family a chance to spread out. There is an outdoor table & chairs which we used to enjoy the evenings, and an outdoor grill that I didn't get around to using (but wanted to). The kitchen was well-appointed. The location is ideal; just a short walk to a nice restaurant, grocery/general store, and the Utopia town square (which has weekend activities). And it's just a short (25 minute drive north) to the Lost Maples State Natural Area (a state park), which has some pleasant hikes and an interesting story.

Everything was amazing, extremely clean and very well kept. The views were gorgeous. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The hosts were very kind, polite and attentive. We loved feeding the deer and walking the property. Bandera is such a cute town with so many activities to enjoy. The house was a perfect location as well. We will definitely be back!

My family and I had a fantastic time staying at this spot for our Thanksgiving gathering. We had a cookout, watched movies, and went for multiple walks around the back. Even though, the area was going through a drought, the host was very friendly and let us in advance. She also provided with drinking water and enough water for showering, doing the dishes, and going to the restroom to last us throughout our entire stay. I definitely recommend this spot for a nice and peaceful stay away from the busy city.

The Bistro was within walking distance and had great food. I wish their breakfast was also available on Fridays as well as we arrived Thursday evening. It was close enough to San Antonio to drive in and close to many activities worth doing (Caverns, Natural Bridges Wildlife Safari - a definate worth visit, and close enough to Boerne and Bandera to sight see and grab a bite). We enjoyed the stay, felt right at home and had a great time!!

Great place! Super quiet, amazingly kind hosts and fabulous animals around the yard. Definitely a place to rejuvenate and enjoy the local area!
