“Loved this place! David’s Airbnb is very charming, clean, and close to a lot of small tucked away places (Iron Fish Distillery, Bear Paw Cafe, Portage Lake, Flamingo Freeze, u-pick blueberry farms and strawberry farms)and close enough to a lot of beaches and state parks (Empire, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Manistee) near the lakeshore. From David’s place, you can take trips up to Glen Arbor, Leelanau, and Traverse City.”
Welcome to the Trunk House at Camp Tosebo. Nestled on the southern shores of pristine Portage Lake and surrounded by 50 acres of protected forest step right out your door for an abundance of activity. Named after its original role storing the campers' clothing, the Trunk House is a large, one room studio with vaulted ceilings, living and dining areas, queen size bed & twin bed, claw foot tub & shower, and kitchenette. Its rustic charm will bring you back for years to come.
“My daughters and I loved the Trunk House. We travel a lot, and decided to take a New Year’s Eve trip. We wanted to stay some place where we could get outside and enjoy the weather. We had a really great stay, and Martha is a very thoughtful host! The Trunk House is surrounded by a great area, and there are a lot of places to hike/walk. The house is very clean and unique. The bed is comfortable and there are a lot of kitchen amenities to make all your meals. The electric fire place is nice too.”

“This place is the perfect mix of old-school construction and modern style. They kept a few vintage touches and mixed in new hardware and finishes. The result is cool AND cozy. We enjoyed having this house as our home base as we explored the surrounding area, fishing our way along the Big Manistee River. The location is just a few blocks from downtown. At the end of every night, it was the perfect place to hang out, invite friends and family over, and prepare for the next day. We would definitely stay here again.”
