Beautiful Hideaway in the hills of trás os montes

This place is our sacred go-to spot when we want to get out of the city and immerse ourselves in nature. This place has special significance for our family because it was here that as a child, we would spend whole days watching over the cows, reading and dreaming as the sun moved across the sky towards dusk. We have recently completed renovations, adding solar & central heating and we would love to share it with people who are looking for a unique experience in an unexplored region of Portugal.

Apimonte Cantinho da Maria is a fully rebuilt house in 2022. Traditional architecture, the rigorous use of materials, Pedra, Madeira and Granites were considered the key elements during rebuilding. The Shale (local stone), the charm of the wood and its architecture decorate the entire building. Functional and well-equipped, the kitchen is an important element. The bedroom and 2 bathrooms were designed to be functional, but very well framed in the structure. Excellent

Ponferrada Castle: fantastic for families

We are only ten minutes walking distance from the train station and/or bus station. The bridge up the street is right by the Medieval Castle. Pilgrims walk by our building in their way to Santiago de Compostela. There is a park across the street. Every Wednesday and Saturday a traditional street market invades the surroundings. If you are an active person, there is a CrossFit box, a traditional gym and many running and bike trails near by
