The Wind Mill

Beautifully located in hills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean sits the Marinhas windmill. The windmill dates from the year 1758 and was built in the traditional northern Portuguese style with circular walls, two floors, an entrance on the grown floor and two windows on the upper floor. It is classified as a municipal heritage building. The mill is 130 meters above sea level thus providing a breathtaking view over the towns and ocean and a unique retreat for the more adventurous guest.

My place is wonderful for families looking for peace and quiet. A few minutes from Viana do Castelo, Barcelos, Esposende or the oldest and most ancient Vila de Portugal, (Ponte de Lima), this space is also very good for families (with kids). Surrounded by green fields and woods with streams, the Atlantic Ocean is also about 10 minutes away, with fabulous beaches between Esposende, Viana do Castelo or Moledo. The Gerês mountain range is about 40 minutes away. Spain is 35 km away.

Recanto do Neiva

This retreat is perfect for leisure, work or family travel. Recanto do Neiva is the perfect place to wake up to the sounds of nature in a quiet and welcoming environment. For those who like busier places, this Recanto is about 10/15km from the beaches of Esposende and Viana do Castelo. It is also about 20 km from the beautiful cities of Barcelos and Viana do Castelo, as well as about 6 km from the access to the A28. There is also a small river beach about 300 m away.
