Excellent location to enjoy all the charms of La Fortuna and San Carlos. Perfect for large or small groups, for all the services it offers. I would definitely come back with my group of 8 people.

We found the house to be clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. We loved the back patio and the beautiful pool. It was a little piece of paradise all to ourselves. The location is perfect because it's only five minutes to town but far enough away that it's quiet and peaceful. Good communication with the host. We would highly recommend.

Despite the language barrier she was very helpful and the place is in a great area where most everything is walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Esmeralda, which is located across from an Indigenous art gallery in the countryside, about a half-hour drive from the busy streets of Monteverde. It is conveniently located about a half-hour drive from the Selvatura Park and Treetopia Park. The house is modern, attractive and nicely furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances and cookware. The mattresses and furniture are super comfortable.The house is spotlessly clean. Access to the home is secured via an electric gate. Our host, Miriam, is a charming and gracious lady, who welcomed us warmly and ensured we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. Although we don’t speak a word of Spanish, she communicated with us with the assistance of Google Translate. Of the three homes we rented during out Costa Rica vacation (all of which were lovely), Casa Esmeralda was by far the best value.

The location is really convenient. It is very close to Bagaces and not so far from Liberia. Rooms were clean and the host was very easy to communicate with.

Great place to stay, even if you aren’t just trying to stay close to the airport, because the beds are large and comfortable, the rooms are big and the house is quiet, but more significantly, the hosts are lovely and kind people with great communication. Will always look for this place first whenever I’m in the area.

Very beautiful location on Lake Arenal, lots of birds in the garden, amazing view, and excellent restaurant on the property. We were able the rent a kayak to explore the lake which was a lot of fun and very convenient. Stayed one night on the way from La Fortuna to Monteverde.

Koky is kind and attentive, he helped us with early check-in, the place is nice and safe, very close to downtown but despite this very quiet. Highly recommended.

Friendly, helpful and communicative staff. Would skip the bar for food and drinks. Kitchen had basics. Great location, very secure building. No towels in our room upon arrival, but they were given to us when we asked the front desk. Overall, great place to stay.

Glorious views and a friendly welcome are waiting for you at this immaculate hacienda in Nuevo Arenal. Perched on a hill above Lake Arenal and surrounded by beautiful gardens this home is your key to peace and tranquility. The hosts are excellent communicators and check in was a breeze. Everything was as described and even surpassed our expectations. The restaurant on the property was a delightful bonus. It's just a bit off the beaten path, and as is often the case, that's where the best kept secrets are usually found. The drive from La Fortuna is a windy adventure replete with captivating vistas and fascinating wildlife. If your travels are taking you through this neck of the woods, I highly recommend a stay at Bluebay, and even if they're not, it's quite possibly worth the detour. It is the essence of "Pura Vida".
