Pure Japanese style traditional House Entire house

This is one of the few remaining pure Japanese-style sho-inzukuri buildings in Hiroshima City, built 75 years ago, shortly after the war.One step from the main street, in a quiet environment, there is a small Japanese-style garden where you can relax. There are items in the Mai House that are only kept there, such as a vase that partially melted due to the heat from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, and photographs from around 100 years ago. The fixtures and fittings and the glass date back more than 70 years, and the two gardens, the irigata (raised floor area) and the study, in particular, capture the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house. At present, these items can only be obtained by placing an order with a select group of craftspeople. Of the five rooms, three are tatami-mat rooms; please sleep on the tatami mats with futons placed on top of them. Located in Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, and accessible by a single tram ride within the city. From the nearest station/tram stop ①, it takes approximately 20 minutes to reach Hiroshima Station. From the nearest station/tram stop ②, you can reach the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome, as well as the city centre, in around 20–30 minutes. The taxi journey takes around 10 minutes. There are a large shopping mall, Youme Town Hiroshima, which has everything you need for daily living, convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart), and eateries (okonomiyaki, ramen, sushi, yakiniku, waffles, bakery, etc.) within walking distance.

The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route.
