The cottage is absolutely stunning - postcard picture perfect. The kitchen is gourmet (everything you could possibly need), bathrooms beautifully done, comfortable beds, washer and dryer, excellent wifi, perfect place to stay for a few days or a few weeks. The setting is so… quiet and peaceful, an excellent get away from the city, we have never slept better. The hosts are just lovely, super knowledgeable about the local area, and definitely have some great restaurant recommendations. Lovely outdoor area in a beautiful garden, if the Normandy weather permits :). Parking on site makes this a great jumping off point to explore the Normandy area, only 15 min from Bayoux for any shopping needs.

Hotel d’Auxais was the PERFECT home for our stay in Normandy. There are not enough words to describe the beauty of this renovated 1600’s home. No expense has been spared in the renovation. You enter a gated courtyard and when the gate is closed you are in your own private retreat. The entryway and master bedroom floor are the original stones and then the owners have seamlessly blended this historic home into one with modern conveniences. The kitchen is new with high end appliances. The living room is large and bright with comfortable furniture. The beds and pillows are comfortable. There are plenty of linens and towels. The bathroom is large and modern. The toiletries smell amazing! There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the third floor, equally new and well- equipped. Everything is immaculate! This home is in the heart of Bayeux, walkable to museums, shops and restaurants. Franck gave us recommendations and was responsive to any and all questions. Merci, Franck et Barbara ❤️

We have stayed in many Airbnbs over the years and this was the best ever. From the warmth of the welcome, the beautiful house and amazing gardens, the history, the graciousness of the building and the generosity of our hosts. It was impeccable. If you are visiting the Normandy beaches I can’t recommend this Airbnb enough. A truly special place that will stay with you for weeks afterwards.

I was warmly welcomed by Manon when I arrived late at night with my dog. Manon is very attentive, responsive and very available if you have any questions. The accommodation is in accordance with the listing and decorated in a "cocooning" style with the necessary equipment. And you can walk through the marshes a few metres away. Thank you for everything, Manon!

This is such a quiet and beautiful air bnb. We spent 3 nights here as a family of four whilst exploring the D Day landing beaches (the gite is very close to Omaha) and we couldn’t fault anything about the accommodation. We had brilliant nights sleep every night - very comfortable mattress and pillows and very quiet area so no noise disturbance. We cooked supper in the kitchen a couple of nights - the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the authentic surroundings and the children enjoyed meeting Moby. Very responsive hosts - we would highly recommend this Gite.

Very nice quiet location, beautiful building, close to the beaches and tourist places of the Second World War. Apart from a key problem on arrival (very quickly resolved by the owner of the premises) the stay was perfect.
