On Bruny Island’s quiet edge, The Songbird - a 1960s shack, lovingly restored - offers a romantic hideaway just metres from the water’s edge. Linen-draped interiors, a flickering fire, and an antique outdoor bath invite you to pause. Wake to the morning chorus and the scent of salt air, and soak beneath stars as the world hushes around you. Here, the rhythm of waves meets the melody of birdsong - and everything unnecessary falls quietly away.

The space
Lovingly restored with soft hands and a romantic heart, this 1960s shack opens its doors as a soulful seaside retreat for two.

Set on the edge of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, overlooking the waters toward Satellite Island, this is a place to let the world slip quietly away. As you step inside, you’re welcomed by the scent of aged timber, the glow of a wood fire and gentle interiors.

Curl up on the luxe daybed with a book and a glass of wine, or simply watch the shifting tides from the warmth of the hearth. A simple, well-equipped kitchenette gives you everything needed to prepare a lazy breakfast or a slow supper with local produce.

At night, retreat to the king bed layered in soft linen, where sleep comes easy with the rhythm of the sea. Outside, under a sky sequined with stars, an antique French bath waits on the deck - a deep, soulful soak with salt air on your skin and nothing but birdsong and silence between you and the universe.
